Hi All!!

Wow, so many are having girls. We dont know the gender yet, as hubby wants it to be a suprise and I decided to give him this one.

The doc I had in Bloem (which is far) wanted me to come every six weeks. I said it is virtually impossible as we are very busy with the farming. When I inquired about when are the important dates, they jsut kept at it with the six weeks (one of the reasons I left). My GP sees me every month to check that I am healthy and baby is healthy. But it is easy to get to him and he doesnt charge a arm or a leg.

Today we are going to new gynea, bit closer. She is apparently very nice. I am so curious to see how much babes weigh. And I am concerned for gestational diabetes. We are also going to pay a visit to hospital, as the next time will almost be due time :).

Anyway.... glad all is good. Keep on squatting to prep for labor. Those of you who are on no 2 or 3.... Lucky! You know the drill!

Hi Simmyc

Congrats with another girl!! I must say, 9 weeks is a long time to wait to see baby again, 4 weeks always feels so far away for me :)

We also had our scan today and luckily we are still having 2 girls!!!! I am so excited and can't wait to get the nursery ready now. Dr also said I must start to get my things ready as with twins they prefer you are ready at 28 weeks for if anything happens - that is quite scary, since it is only 2 months from now and there is still so much to do!!!

At 20.4 weeks one girl now weighs 386g and the other 420g, Dr is happy with everything so far.

How is everyone else doing this week???

Hi all, glad to hear you are all doing well. i can concur about the emotional rollercoaster, guess its part of the journey feeling teary and emtional and unappreciated at times but hopefully that too will pass. I've also picked up about 10kgs already and im 21wks, yikes not great!! but my nausea only stopped at 18wks and i could only handle bread and toast or carbs the entire time!! so no surprises there..trying to cut back now but not easy cause now im just hungry all day long..ai, guess i will just have to train and diet extra hard from Jan onwards.
soooo we finally went for our 20wk scan and we found out we are having another little princess!! our little 3yr old girl is soo excited and im happy too but dad is a bit dissapointed that he wont ever have a son but its one of those things i guess..as long as baby is healthy everything is fine

Im only seeing the gynae at 30wks again..my gynae is quite unconventional about these check-ups and says research suggest only 3 scans per pregnancy and only gynae visits at most nb milestones..so we wait another 9wks

have a good day all and keep well

Hi all (again ehehhe)

I feel your pain towards exercise. I have never been one to enjoy working up a sweat unless it is in my garden. Though I did my yoga (short routine) at least 3 to 4 times a week. When I fell pregnant, the garden work immediately became something of the past due to extreme fatigue, and yoga had to be adapted as Pigeon is not conducive to pregnancy. I found some lovely routines of Katy Apptleton free on youtube and one of Lara Dutta. They help me a lot. When I feel stiff or sore, I just do it.

I also had bad round ligament pain, driving on the farm roads was no fun. But now it seems to be sorted.

I did lots of kegel exercises in the beginning and did some reading up on it. They recommend doing squats rather as you need those muscles to have good plevic floor muscles. Or something like that. And to be honest, everytime I come out of a squat or some from Worrier (yoga pose) to normal stance, i feel my pelvic muscles tense. Very debatable subject.

Luckily for me... I weighed a lot when started my pregnancy journey, and my deal and promise to myself was I will not become a whale by eating too much. So watching my diet (not dieting... I eat a lot) has helped me to maintain almost the exact same weight. I have picked up 750 grams and I am 25/26wks. But boy... those koeksiters I baked on Saturday is very yummy.

Hi again,

Hantielab we're looking into options, with Nicholas we thought that you could maybe shorten it to Nic as a nickname, which is quite cool, but we're still looking at everything, especially since hubby likes to consider ALL options before making decisions. haha. Ag I'm not too worried about losing the baby weight, I can already see that I'm not gaining anywhere except for the bump and boobs, and breastfeeding will take care of the extra kgs, and since I ditched the pill (yasmin) my metabolism has been grand (for some reason the pill really messed around with me) more concerned about stretchmarks if I get huge like my mom. I really hope I carry a bit smaller, but I doubt it.

I've also not been too good with exercise. I try to at least take some kind of stroll every weekend, but weeks have been challenging as I work in front of my computer. Even worse, I work from home, so often I can stay in my PJ's all day if I want to, which is so tempting! Also in the first trimester I had some bad nausea and fatigue, not exactly conductive when trying to find inspiration to hit the gym. And now round ligament pain so it's been challenging. I'm trying to work through some pregnancy yoga routines on youtube when I can, they seem to also help ease my back and abdominal pain, and I can do that at home easily, which helps. So I think that might be the most beneficial thing for me to get more of.
