hay there

so sorry I only saw your message today - I hope today is a better day and that you slept better!

The multiples seminar sounds like a good idea :) and you went to anti-natal for your first born so sure everything will come back to you when the time comes.

our class was very nice, the midwife came to our house and she explained everything so nicely. And as you said I think it made it more real for hubby. I really hope he remembers everything cause I sure won't remember all those stuff when I get contractions! hehehehe  We did natural birth and coping with labour our next class is only in two weeks and that will be baby care (going home)

And thanks for the tip on the spaghetti tops I went to buy one yesterday and it works perfectly!

Hi hi

Those salt baths are the best!! I sat in cold, salt water the first few days since I was quiet sore after the episiotomy. The water bottle is a good idea!!!

Liefie you must enjoy the ante-natal classes, I think our husbands probably enjoy it more, or mine did, think it started feeling real for him then!
Your baby is also growing nicely and I'm really glad he's head down - hope he stays that way!!!

We are skipping the ante-natal classes this time but hope to be mobile enough to attend a multiples seminar in Jhb on the 8th of Nov.

I'm really having a bad day today, didn't sleep well last night and so tired and sore today. Basically just slept and lay on the couch the whole day!! Hopefully tomorrow will be better!

You all must enjoy your weekends and remember to pack those bags!!!

Hello there

So had our 31weeks scan yesterday! Baby is doing well and now weighs 1.7kg! so he gained 700grams in 4weeks :) He has gone into the correct position head down.

I asked my gynae re shaving/waxing etc and she said that it is not necessary.
If I am someone that regularly waxes then I should go ahead and do it - but if I am not I shouldn't worry about it. What I would do is clean up and trim perhaps down stairs and keep everything nice and short - if that makes sense  So I guess it differs from Dr and hospital. If I had the guts I would do it I just know from last time trying to do it for my honeymoon it just hurts toooo much. ouch!

Also got a nice tip yesterday - the hospital now a days mostly have showers and apparently have to do a saltwater sit bath every morning and evening and after you go to the toilet. She suggested to do the sit bath in the morning first thing and evening but to take a normal water squeeze bottle with to hospital and fill it with salt water - so for the in between after you go to the toilet you can clean yourself with the bottle... :)

It is lovely sunny here in cape town - hope all of you have a lovely weekend!
We are starting our anti-natal classes!

srgreyling hope you are feeling better soon and that baby will stay put!!
In regards to the shaving, last time they told me that it must be done in case you have to go for an emergency c-sec. I must say, I also think it is more hygienic since there is a lot of bleeding afterwards and then everything can stay nice and clean.
Maybe find out from the hospital your at but at Wilgers - Pretoria they asked for it.

Hope you all have a wonderful, contraction free day!!

Hi all

I thought the shaving isnt done anymore. Which hospital are going to? I am at Life. I will protest if they want to shave me. Luckily there wont be time as I will get there just before baby comes. And there are no medical reason why they should shave. Or is there?

On another note... had to rush to doc yesterday. Had severe cramps bordering on labour. Turned out it was severe bladder infection causing extreme cramping. After some meds to stop labour I was monitored for 30 min to see if there were anymore contractions. Luckily not. Sent home with antibiotics and blood pressure pills to keep contractions at bay for another 3 wks.

They are bit concern baby is too heavy and might come very early. So I am definitely packing our bags today.

So lets see if we can get everything done by this weekend!!

Liefie, yes my first was natural and yes do wax (the full monty) :( otherwise you get shaved
Closer to the end you will have a good idea of when baby will come, so I would say wait until 37 or 38 weeks to be safe. It's ouch but better than being shaved!!!!

The lady at the store had quite a laugh while she was helping me search for xxxl strappy tops

Getting excited now, one of these days we will be posting baby photos!!
