Oh regarding antenatal classes...I am actually an antenatal instructor too so with our first we just did a 1 day crash course mostly for hubby to just have an idea of what to expect.
My classes are 90 minutes each and run over 4 weeks. I find that is sufficient....a crash course would be 4 hours and not as detailed.
I can't imagine 7 weeks of 3 hours each!!! You'll be full of knowledge by the end of it

All my email notifications have been going to junk mail folder for some reason so only read all the posts now.

Sounds like all the scans have been lovely looking forward to mine (not this Saturday...but the next). Booked it for a Saturday so hubby could come. And now it turns out he has to work at an expo

We also have had to plan on how I can get to hospital should he be away when I go into labour as he travels for work (usually 4-7 hours away from home) so there is a chance he may miss the birth completely. We will see...

I would like to have maybe had a doula just in case but they are well over R8000 here and I just cannot justify that kind of money so hopefully the midwives will be accommodating and supportive should I be alone!!
My neighbour will keep my son (providing I go into labour before my mom flies here).

So that's our plan. It's not ideal. But such is the life of an expat!

Thanks - it makes sense. I'm starting my 23rd week tomorrow.

i am 23 weeks today.
he is more or less halfway there.
full term babies usually are about 50 cm when born.
they will grow in length till about 30 weeks and there after will only gain weight and develop further
it seems very big, but remember that is stretched out from head to toe. they curl up so much and when baby is born they seem so small you will not beleive how tall they are actually

Hi Stella - aawh, that's great. wonderful that everything is going well and that baby is growing healthy. I just took a ruler.. 25cm is big? how many weeks are you now?
Ayesha - trust everything is fine and baby is healthy..? thinking of you.. i'd be completely stressed if that should happen to me.

Enjoy the rest of your day ladies - this little boy is kicking me.. I almost feel nauseas due to all the movement.. weirdest feeling but wouldn't want it any other way

scan went great. my little angel is growing very nicely.
he is now 651g and more or less 25 cm.
he was asleep during the scan and didnt move much. he did open his eyes once and looked around a bit could also clearly see him moving his mouth as if he was suckling.
was soooo nice.

hoping its nothing serious. one of my friends had bleeding throughout her entire pregnancy, and she had a full term pregnancy and a healthy baby.

enjoy all the ante natal classes ladies.
we went for a 8 week course with my lb and we really enjoyed it. i also did a Hypnobirthing course and i really loved that. will this time round just do a refresher with the hypnobirthing.
