Wow Zandri that's exciting! And scary! How big is baby measuring now?

Why did Dr change his mind, if I may ask?

Thinking of you!!

Hello ladies

Got some serious news. Dokter did a scan today and he was not impressed with baby's progress. He said that he is going to do the c section this week. Either tomorrow or Thursday. I am a little is shock and very emotional because baby is still so small. Please keep us in your prayers.

Hi all

@Kimmy - so close for you too, now! Wow!

@Lilly - sorry to hear about your cousin! Sending hugs. Look forward to seeing your photos! We got the disc with the rest of ours last week, but I just posted on Facebook. Had actually meant to post more and just haven't bothered. So many things I thought I'd do before tomorrow that have gone by the wayside, but I guess I should be happy I got the important stuff done.

@Clueless - I have no words! That is truly awful of your mom to do! Even if the spelling is considered unusual, you've said it has the same pronunciation as "Neve", not so? And I don't think there's anything wrong with that at all (not that my opinion is important, but still). It's completely selfish and unacceptable for her to behave like that and I really hope she puts on some big girl panties and realizes that she'll only be hurting herself in the long run. Your daughter can't miss someone she doesn't know! Stay strong and stick to your guns, you've thought long and hard about the name and it's your decision.

AFM, feeling surreal at the moment. My eyes were burning earlier from my lack of sleep, but I managed to get a short nap in now and am feeling more alive albeit like a bit of a slob still in my nightie with a messy house (DH assures me it will be clean by Friday).

Oh dear... I can't believe your mom!!! The thing I've noticed most with my mother and with me becoming a mother - is that they try and "right" the mistakes that they made, with the grankids... It's caused numerous fights between me and my mom. It even once went so far that I seriously had enough and exploded!!! I said to her that she has absolutely NO right to comment or judge on my parenting style, as I didn't have the best or most wonderful example as a mother. She's made numerous mistakes I can point out to her, but all I can do is learn from that and try to not make the same mistakes and be the best mother possible to my 2 girls. Needless to say - that shut her up completely!!!

My parents stay in a granny flat on the property, so yes - we get along, we love them... they have their faults, but they still stay my parents. But it's not always easy!!!!

We haven't even told them what our 2nd's name will be, just because I'm not interested in any commentary... whether good or bad - I simply couldn't give a damn what she thinks.

Lily!!! Welcome back - I've missed you... so sorry about your cousin my dear!

I'm "goodish"... Since this weekend I've been having this "funny & strange" feeling. I'm not sick or anything, but feel extremely anxious! On Saturday hubby proposed we take Elmarise through to Sun City to Valley of Waves - I was all for it! Then Sunday night I woke up in a state... complete paranoia! Said to hubby I don't think we should go - I just feel extremely uncomfortable going away from home. I constantly have this feeling/fear that anything can happen now anytime. He says I'm being silly and that I shouldn't work myself up - but I can't get rid of this feeling!

Since this weekend I've also started getting these on/off moments of terrible nausea...

I had the same experiences when I was at my final weeks with Elmarise, and I don't know if it's fear of happening again or if it's my body trying to tell me to get ready...? All I know is it's freaking me OUT!!!!!

Thanks Ladies for the kind words. You all make me feel a bit better. I agree she is childish and selfish and making this all about herself, and the worst is, if she just thought about it and gave it some time, I'm sure she would actually like the name. I'm pretty sure this is just about getting attention, and getting her own way. This type of behaviour is not new for her, it just comes at a bad time. I agree she will just hurt the people she loves, and it is incredibly sad, but she has always been very serious about principles and what is right (in her opinion) and is so stubborn that, once she has convinced herself that her "cause" is right and just, and the right thing to do, no-one and nothing will sway her even if she destroys relationships. She has already alienated most people around her. And she has now convinced herself that she is doing the right thing for her unborn grandchild, who can't yet speak up for herself.

At the moment I'm dealing with this as a tantrum. I'm upbeat when we speak and I don't give the topic any attention, and if it comes up I just say that the topic is closed, and I move on. Unfortunately, where I was not 100% sure about the name or spelling, she has put me in a position where I can no longer change my mind because that will make it look like I gave in to her demands. I hate being in this position, the name of a much loved child (and grandchild) should not be chosen under such circumstances.
