Thanks for the useful info Zaza Our Doc gives us a dvd at each visit so I'm sure we'll get one this time round. The appointment is scheduled for the 22nd - 2 weeks to go!

I can't wait for after that - The we can really start with the planning and excitement They say weeks start going faster after the first trimester - I really hope so, the last month has been the longest of my life!! LOL

How was the weekend?

@Camry- welcome dear, u will enjoy being part of this group and congrats on pregnancy. I'm 11 weeks 2days yay and Friday will be my first gynae visit . Zaza is the guru she will tell you all about what happens at each stage .

@ Nix- nice pic gal, that must have been quite heavy on that tiny body "poor spine".
@ Hapi- lovely pic, the background is my @nd home these days so I don't mind lol.

Good Morning Pregnant Fairies

Hope you all had a good weekend?

Welcome Carmy and congrats on the pregnancy. Wow you and Lashy have new year babies, so awesome.

I'm on 15 weeks today, due 1 Dec but will also be going earlier for elective Caesar but I love the December mama group so I staying here this is my second baby, have a 3 year old daughter as well.

Carmy all I recall from first pregnancy is someone told me that a 12 week scan is the last time baby will fit in one shot in the gynae ultrasound scan, so these will be the best full body shots you will ever get, after that baby gets bigger and they take section by section for the scans.

Are you going for a normal scan at 12 weeks or the foetal assessment scan? I had a foetal assessment one done at that time and they checked babies development, organs, risk factors and all that, all came back clear but they made us a DVD of the scan so we have baby live at 13 weeks, maybe ask them if they can record for you, great memorabilia to have.

All they told me was eat before I arrive and empty my bladder. Took about 45 mins to get the babies assessments, they check your placenta, etc from the scan, make sure baby getting enough oxygen, etc.

My little one refused to show the gender and to get the spinal cord check done I was sent away 4 times to try and get baby to move a bit so the doc could see everything was ok.

But otherwise its a really amazing scan, enjoy, when is you date for the next scan?

My next scan is next week sometime, then the big one in July at 20 weeks (half away) can't wait, time seems to be going faster now!!!

I am new to Moomie and I must say - This might be my favorite blog site EVER
I am 10weeks today and have had 2 scans - My next one will be at 12 weeks (I had a MC last year so Gyne wanted to see me often - So far so good).

I am technically due on the 4th January 2016 but will be doing an elective caesarean so Bug will probably be arriving near the end of December! YAY!

I just wanted to find out what the 12 week appointment entails - I know we will be doing the bloods and testing for Downs etc, but anything else I can prepare for?
