Help me out with the scan dates ladies...I have missed a lot!!

Joo-ste - add my next scan for 2 Aug! It's my NT scan and I'll be 13 weeks exactly.

My OB actually scans at every appointment, so I will have another one again on 16 Aug! I'll be 15 weeks. I'm hoping I get to find out the gender at one of those 2 appointments. What do you ladies think about that? When did you find out last time/are you hoping to find out this time?

I'm so excited that everything is progressing for everybody, and those of us still in the 1st trimester are nearing the end of it. Yippee!

By the way, I have to go tell my grandparents today that I'm pregnant.
They are like my 2nd parents, I am very close to them, but I am unmarried and I think it will be a big shock to them. They are 84. My parents are thrilled, but grandparents are from a different generation so I can understand that I need to be more sensitive with them. I am very nervous to give them a shock like this at their age, so wish me luck!!

You ladies are teaching me things, do you do this Harmony test if you have abnormal markers on your Nuchal scan and bloods?

Thank you for the support ladies, I feel like a new person this morning - I can't explain to you how depressed I was last week. I know there are still lots of risks lying ahead, but we are celebrating each little "victory"!

Jooste, the test costs about R9000 as it's sent to California, USA. Labs are currently being developed in SA, but they are not ready for operation yet. I've heard that Discovery is the only medical aid that pays a portion - about R1200. Apparently there are cheaper versions of the test, but for twins we could only do the Harmony test. My sister was 39 when she had her daughter (4,5 years ago) and her gynae insisted on an amnio, which she then did, and all was a 100%. But back then I don't think tests like the Harmony existed yet. Good luck with your scan today.

My next scan day is 26 July.

We've decided to wait until our next scan next Tuesday before telling our daughter. Initially I wanted to do this whole thing on video to catch her reaction, but now I feel that everything has changed. We will still tell her and be happy about everything, but we have to sort of, in some way or another, warn her that things might still go wrong and that the babies will probably be in the hospital for a very long time. I have no idea how to tell her in a nice/exciting way without scaring her. Does anyone have some advice?

I am so excited ......yet also anxious. After seeing the heartbeat twice I know that I can surely start to relax now, but it is still so nervewrecking.....
