debbie dont stress about it too much now, try to relax, everything will be ok. remember maybe u ovulated later like i did. i went to the gynae thinking i was 7 weeks and i was only 6. the heartbeat also measured in at 119. she wasnt concerned and said that the heartbeat only starts beating faster the further u are in weeks.

Hi everyone. This is my first pregnancy - I'm 7 weeks along - and I'm trying to navigate the joyous world of what Discovery medical aid will and won't cover, what I need to have done, etc. Although I'm in perfect health and have never had any problems with my parts, I am older (35) and want to make sure I do everything "by the book".

I also had my wisdom teeth out a week before I conceived and was taking pretty hardcore anti-inflammatories and painkillers when I fell pregnant - poor thing!

I've never been to a gynae, only a GP, so that's the first thing I need to sort out. You have to be referred by a gynae for Discovery to cover the 10-week blood tests entirely (on Classic Saver) with their preferred supplier (Next BioSciences). On the plus side, they do the fancy accurate one that's sent to the UK.

So that brings me to my next question. I need a nice gynae contracted into Discovery to do my 10-week blood test. Can anyone recommend a female gynae in Cape Town who is contracted into Discovery? Thanks!

P.S. Morning sickness should be renamed all-day sickness.
P.P.S. I'm still mildly in shock that my husband and I fell pregnant so quickly (we'd only been trying a month), so apologies if I'm more practical and not a gushy mommy yet!

Hi ladies, we are pregnant we heard a heart beat of 119 Dr is a concerned as smudge only measured at 6w4days and I should be 7w1day, so he is concerned for abnormalities, going to be scanned in 2 weeks, and he has booked me for the 12 week scan to see what comes of it. I understand his concern esp cos of my age

Keeping fingers crossed that it will move up! Just relax and take it one day at a time!
