Hello ladies,

@ SimmyBunz - yes seems everyone is enjoying the whatsapp group....they are saying it's too much of a schlep at the moment to log in...just easier for them on the whatsapp group.
Glad you are still hanging in there and feeling great :) Baba is enjoying it much in your comfy warm womb LOL
So sorry to hear about your dog....our pets become part of the family and when they pass away it's like a family member that passes away.

@ SpiritedMama - BIG congrats!! And WOW  @ 4kg! That must of been a huge shock...expecting a 3.2/3.3kg baby and then having a 4kg baba pop out! My 1st born was also born at 37 weeks 5 days and she weighed 3.8kg....I loved having a baby born with little fat rolls all over - it was like having a little Oros baby LOL
Wow....can just imagine how hectic it must have been with hubby and your older son also being admitted into hospital.
You definitely have a great birth story to tell :)

So just an update for those who are not on the whatsapp group....
Tanya gave birth to her little boy this morning - 3.3kg @ 38 weeks
He is absolutely gorgeous and both mommy and baby are doing well.

So that leaves 4 of us left (I think)

AF - had a scan this morning and all seems well. At 36 weeks LO weighs 2.8kg, she has turned head down but has not engaged or moved down. Haven't had any type of pains other than just some tightening BH every now and again.
Next scan is in 2 weeks @ 38 weeks....will be the Monday and scheduled to have C-section that Thursday.
Seems that all the mommies have been having there babies early between 37-38 weeks (or earlier).....so I will have to play the waiting game now. Last day at work tomorrow...YAY!!!!

Sorry for the long post  and no personals. I need to go and express milk as my breasts are engorged...amd this boy can't latch if my boobs are engorged... he is breastfeeding like a champ.

Bea the boys are so cute. I will post pics soon.
Hope everyone is well and congrats to Gontse on the baby girl. Sorry if I missed anyone else now.

Cheers for now.

My eldest came to visit his baby brother on Tuesday. He is so proud and such an a,azing big brother.
Wednesday morning 2:30am husband sends me a message the eldest is vomitting and lethargic and he is bringing him to the ER. I wait with baited breath. The put on an IV drip amd meds for gastro,...apparently there is a really bad bug doing the rounds. They eventually leave ER after 7am and come and come see us in the ward. Eldest seems fine and they head ho,e to get some sleep.

Midday husband says they getting a few things from the shops and will be around later to visit. Well, i get a message later from husband they are back at ER. As they got to hospital the eldest got sick in the car again. This time dr admits the elsest. So....we were all in hospital. Husband roomed in with the eldest and Me with the baby. The nursing staff in the maternity ward was amazing. They wathched Noah most of the time so that i could visit with my elsest son too. Even until well after midnight. Baby and I got discharged on Thursday but eldest still had to stay. My husband stayed with the eldest BUT then he got ill in hospital too. He hi,self was on an IV. Thankfully, they were both discharged on friday and seem to be doing better now.

We had quite an eventful week last week but fortunately this baby is so sweet. He eats, sleeps and poops. A generally happy baby.

Tuesday 24 Jan, also my husband's cousin's birthday.

Induction started at 6am with gel...
Oh, I had a stretch and sweep on Monday.
Husband was at the hospital 06:30, and my eldest stayed home with my Aunt whilst we waited for this little boy to arrive.
I walked the passages, bounced on a birthing ball etc. dr came round at 10am to check on my progress. 3cm  she decided that perhaps she should rupture my membranes but the nurse said the ward is so fill as soon there is a labour suite she will rupture membrnes and inform the dr.
At this stage I was still very much myself and not feeling the contractions that I was getting.
2pm, labour suite opens and I move next door. Nurse is calm and patiently doing paperwork. I felt I needed to pee. Well then nurse checks and says I'm leaking amniotic fluid so lets rupture the membranes. I felt a pop and amwarm sensation. And then the shit got real, al,ost immediately. Contractions were coming on top of one another and I hardly had time to breathe in between.
2:55pm I told husband and nurse I need to get off that bed and rock on that ball, believe me I tried but just couldn't get off the bed. Nurse just leaves the room to check on something, I tell the husband call that nurse I need to push. She comes back and checks. Low and behold I went from being 4cm at 2:30 to full dialation at 3pm. She calls another nurse to assist. Frantically calls the dr to run as the baby is coming. I swear I didn't push but my body was breathing this boy out. It was intense. It was surreal. I felt the nurse hold him back as we waited for the dr...Dr comes running and says ooh my gloves. Well lets just say she got there just in time. Our son, Noah, was born at 15:06 weighing a whopping 4.04kg. I swear if I didn't witness the birth I would hve doubted that he was mine, although he looks exactly like his brother did but he is way chubbier.

And that was that. I birthed my 4kg baby, no tears, everything in tact. Even the dr was stunned. Both Noah and I are doing great. We were discharged on Thursday.

Noah born on 24 January at 37weeks5days. Nine of us, even the dr anticipated that this boy would be 4kg. The previous week he was 3.2kg :woohoo:
We are just very grateful and blessed that we have healthy baby boy and that we are all well.

Hi Ladies

Sorry about my delayed response but I had a new baby :woohoo:
So I went to my dr on Monday, 23 Jan for my check up. Needless to say I had protein in my urine and had began swelling again. She of course wanted to admit me immediately but I said no, I am going to watch my eldest son swim in his first gala  and I will be back at 5pm. Dr almost choked cos whilst I'm giving my t's & c's she is on the phone with the labour ward prepping them to get me going :silly:
Oh my husband went along to the appointment and just said he will bring me back after the gala, which started 11am.
Oh and I hadn't dialated further yet. She was going to do the induction Tuesday and not Wednesday, as we had originally planned.

So my son was AMaZINg in his gala. Won freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke. I was so proud and cheering through my blurry teary vision that my 7yr old is such an amazing swimmer.

We also had my aunt and her two daughters visiting us the weekend from Cape Town. Lovely surprise the arranged with my husband for me. The whole family went to the swimming gala :silly:

Ok fast forward to after the gala, we stop for KFC and come and have a hurried lunch at home. We all load up and head off to the hospital. Husband dropped me, the eldest son and my other Aunt at the hospital and takes the other Aunt and her daughters to the airport. I get settled into the labour ward and wait....

Dr decided we will start induction on tuesday morning at 6am. Had a lovely visit with my household and then tried to get some sleep before the big day. Now bear in mind I was slepeing in the labour ward. It seemed like it was rush hour as there were so many women screaming and birthing babies left right and centre...

Hi ladies

It's so quiet on here now! I suppose everybody is enjoying the whatsapp group too much, I will have to give in and join :)

Pokkeltjie - Hope you're hanging in there still with the discomfort - not too long to go now at least! How did the baby shower and farewell go?

Spirited Mama - You must have had your induction by now, so exciting! Please update us as soon as you're up to it and please post a pic!

lethuwam - I hope things are starting to calm down now, and that you have slowly started to pack the baby bag/wash the clothes! I feel so bad for you with the hip pain :(

gontse - Congratulations! Please post a pic for us? What is her name? I hope everything is going well.

Bea - I'm really hoping for a natural birth. The twins are looking adorable, they have really come so far, you must be thrilled! I'm happy for you that the medical aid is paying for the injections - R24 000 a month for 6 months would not be fun!

Wow, so exciting to hear about MrsGov - when was her due date originally? Aaah, and only 2 days left for Tanya!

Any updates on the other ladies??

AFM - I am still feeling quite good. Baby isn't engaged yet, so I'm not sure when he is planning to do that! He is about 3kg now at just over 38 weeks. I don't have too many aches and pains to complain about, except I can only sleep on my left side due to pain in my ribs when I lie on my right side. It can be quite annoying but I'm not complaining. Dr will let me go to 41 weeks before inducing, so I have opted for a membrane sweep on my due date. On another note, my family dog that we had for 18 years got very sick last week and ended up being put down last week Sunday. My mother and brother took her but I had to go say goodbye to her before. She lived with my mom, but up until 2 years ago I lived with them and she was honestly the best and most special little dog on the planet. It was such a difficult thing to deal with and I've had a rough week. I know some people will say it's only a dog, but I have had her since I was a small child, she was family and such a big part of my life. My mom is not coping that well so I have been with her basically everyday all day this week. Anyway, I'm excited for baby and can't wait now.

Debbie - I will inbox you my number for the whatsapp group
