Hey ladies!
@Reef and @Jooste - I'm quite the opposite to the two of you with the fertility treatments and people knowing. All of our family and closest friends knew and during the cycle I actually selected a few to inform so that they could pray for us and help us through the tough times especially because we had to travel alot. We did our official announcement on Tuesday after our scan and included in it that we had struggled for two years and had two failed cycles of IVF. I didn't openly tell everyone about doing IVF as I didn't want too many opinions but I definitely told those near and dear. I also wanted to include our struggle in our announcement because I feel that infertility is frowned upon and woman are made to feel so inferior that I felt it was important to show others that it is okay to have problems and it is okay to be hurt. I also started the IVF South Africa support page that now has over 600 members as I couldn't find any other support system for women going through IVF in south africa and it shocked me, it makes me feel so sad when people are alone. I know of another lady in my town that did IVF, she knew we were going through it and didn't message me once. If I know of a lady so close by that is going through the struggle that I did I will definitely make sure I reach out to her and let her know that I am there for support and she isn't alone. That is my side

I totally get the whole its nobody's business side of it but to me I really wanted to create awareness about the realities of infertility and that it actually does happen to more people than you can imagine.
