@Jooste - Thanks for that info! It really helps! I find this time really hard as you know a bump can start showing soon and you get so impatient waiting for it! My next checkup will be with the midwife on 7 July unless I need to see her sooner. The spotting has stopped today, I upped my water intake yesterday. The spotting started while we were in the game park which involved quite a bit of driving on dirt roads and then we drove to my mom on Tuesday night and that was more driving so I am thinking it is just a bit too much driving and activity at the moment. We haven't had intercourse this week just to allow things to settle.
I plan on taking it very easy this weekend! If it carries on or gets worse I will def give the doc a ring but it hasn't been bright red yet or along with cramps, been very minimal.

@ Reef - I'm choosing not to have a 12 week scan as I have already had two and just like the safety of a doppler isnt guaranteed, so is the safety of a scan and hence my decision to wait for the 20 week one. I see my midwife at 16 weeks and she will be able to use a doppler then.

Ah I don't think I have updated you ladies! I have contacted a midwife and she is happy to be my primary "caregiver" as long as I stay healthy and have an uncomplicated pregnancy. I see her at 16 weeks and then I see a gynae for a scan at 20 weeks. I have also spoken to the mediclinic in PMB and they allow her to do water births there!! so so excited! Our first priority will be trying to find a place in PMB where we could have a "home" birth and if we can't rent a place then we will settle for the hospital. The downside of living so far from a hospital is that we can't have a home birth in our own home.. I have made peace with it though and am so excited about the prospects of having a midwife help me

Chanti - I'm sure all is fine. Are you having a 12 week scan? I also can't wait to just feel some sort of bump... and patience is not my strong point.

Joo~ste - it is awesome telling people. We have told family and some close friends and are now waiting till next scan.

AFM - I've been nauseous and grumpy... feel sorry for my work colleagues who I think are taking the beating and just don't know why... lol. All will be revealed soon. I'm going for a scan next week when I will be about 10 and a half weeks. Will feel more confident after that.

@Jooste - Ah its so awesome being able to tell someone hey!!! We spilt the beans at 9 weeks and the love we received was incredible! We just couldn't hold it in and we didn't want it coming out on the town rumour mill. Oh my word I feel like koeksisters now. That is so awesome that you picked up the hearbeat!! I'm still in two minds about buying a doppler, the crazy side of me desperately wants to hear that things are still okay until the bump grows and the other side of me isn't sure about how it affects the baby and I don't want it to cause it any discomfort/pain. Argh I so want to know how things are going though!

@Pinky - I am so glad things are going well with you

AFM, I have been spotting on and off the last few days, it started when we were in Hluhluwe game reserve this weekend and has been on and off. It has been brown/light pink but fortunately no cramping. Im 11weeks 1 day today and just can't wait for my little bump to start so that i know bean is still growing. I tried to feel for my uterus just above the pubic bone but I don't think it has lifted yet...

Had 2 "koeksisters" after lunch......and now not feeling so great

And...the Cyclogest is making me so constipated - and bloated....someone at work looked at me skew from the side (I was busy chatting to someone else at the time) and she came up to me later on and wanted to know if I am pregnant! Hmm....at 10 weeks one surely cannot already see a bump....more a bloat - but I could not keep myself in. I first just stood there not knowing what to say and then decided that since I am truly believing with all my heart that this nunu will stay - I might as well admit it. I made her promise to absolute secrecy as my parents and inlaws do not even know yet. But - boy...I felt so good afterwareds. I told someone I am pregnant. Huge step for me at the moment as previous pregnancies miscarried before I told anyone and it made me feel as if I did not acknowledge the fact that there was a baby at all.

Jooste, that is awesome, i think i am going to buy one this weekend, cant wait for scan.
