thank you ladies, yes it is indeed a quest to find someone who ticks all the boxes (medical aid, water birth, close proximity, etc.)

Welcome Tasjavdm! This is a wonderful blog and it helped me with my TTC and first pregnancy.
Can't wait to share my journey with you for my second.

Congrats on your pregnancy! Hope you have as little as possible morning sickness (hehehe)

Unfornintly I am not able to give my 2cents about your doctor, as I am in Cape Town. But I trust that you will be able to find useful information here.

Good luck with the find - I know that it is a scary process looking for a gynea, especially if you are already preggies.

My gynea informed me that she will no longer be taken on pregnant clients - even if I am an existing client of hers. So I had to find one as well. Seeing him in March for my first appointment, hopefully, he is as good as his reviews.

Good luck!

Hi,

I am new on the forum and also a new to be mommy. Due 3 October (7-8 weeks).

Baie geluk ellam and congrats to the others. I am reading what to expect and getting as much advice as possible from the internet. It is fun to relate to actual people though.

I am with Dr. MC van Aardt (now at Kloof in Pta) and use to be with his wife Dr. Judy v Aardt, but she has gone private now and not through Discovery. He can only assist up to 23 weeks though as he did not renew his delivery license. I know people highly recommend Dr. J Grassie at Kloof (very close to my house). I would like to have a water birth though and not sure if she can accommodate me. Any suggestions or advice?

Thanks ellam ?. Congrats to you too xx

I also try to eat smaller meals more frequently. Other than that I’ve got some ginger biscuits on my desk and cold toast is a winner ? Unfortunately this does not keep the nausea at bay but at least brings some small measure of relief.

I had to tell the guys at work about this pregnancy earlier than I wanted due to the fact that I just cannot seem to keep my eyes open and well, the constant nausea and bloat did not help much. I’m also quite a dud at work after 14:00 ?
Luckily they all seem very excited and they’re so supportive!

Hi JLK

Congrats!!! I am sure you are still over the moon - just like I am.

What do you do about the morning sickness? I find that if I eat more often, that I don't get as sick as when I don't eat. So I snack snack snack - for each meal now. Large meals is also not working for me.

Oh, the tiredness!!! I can only focus as work till about 14:00 - then I am out. And then, of cause, I lay awake from 5 am in the mornings.

Hi ??

I’m also due in October - on the 11th which puts me at six weeks today.

This will be our third baby ☺️ Also quite unexpected but we are extremely excited!

Our oldest is six and youngest recently turned two. We haven’t told them yet as we’re waiting for the first doctors appointment next week. A little nervous as I had three miscarriages between DD and DS.

I’m dealing with horrible morning sickness, sore boobs and I’m EXTREMELY tired EEXXTTRREEEMMEELLLYY!
