Hi Oct Mommies.
Hope everyone is doing well and that baby staying snug.

I went to see all my new providers (hospital, midwife, gynae). Happy and content. Just hope all goes well with the route forward.

Hi
Also due Oct :).
I've decided to change from gynae to midwife assited birth, 1st birth. Going to have the discussion next week with gynae.
The decision is mostly based on hosital, which is also closer.

Hi mommies :)

I also need to this forum, and also going to be a first time mom
Quite excited about the whole pregnancy.. I'm 17weeks and 2 days today (yaay) but oh my I feel tired almost 60% of the time and the constant sickness (not so fun) and sore boobs

Anyway can anyone suggest a good Gynecologist around Johannesburg please.

Nicole, nope this is for everything not just the gender, the gender testing is more like an extra added with. They test from a-z. The doctor recommend it, dr had her fingers burned too many times due to patients and their wants

We are doing this willingly but it is still a lot of money.

@Lizel,

I did the Downs blood tests 4 weeks ago and it cost just under R800 at Lancet.

In my opinion it is not worth doing a R6,500 test just to find out the gender of the baby if you can find that out in about 2-3 weeks' time anyway... the gender test is expensive. Unless your gynie WANTS you to take the test because you are a high risk case. It also depends whether it is just a blood test or an actual Chorionic villus sampling (CVS) test.

@CAlbertze: I don't think there is a November group as yet. You would need to create one, or create one and join the other groups on their journeys whilst waiting for more moms to join up your group.

Kels, I am glad you guys are going to TTC again. Holding fingers cross.

Did any of you or are any of you ladies doing the bloodtest @ 10 weeks for Down Syndrome? I am doing it but it cost like R6500 for it. We will be able to know the gender with these test as well.

Aaaah Mandie I am so sorry, I know what you are going through and believe me it gets better with time.
I now laugh about it cause really there is nothing I can do other than to accept, you will be fine and I am here if you want to talk.
my prayers are with you, I just got my first period and will be ttc from this month.
