EP: i have to agree the sooner you start brushing LO the better. I only started with siba he hates it. hits the toothbrush. my nanny tries her besy.

as for moomie meet, i rather meet up with the groups i chat with. like my oct/nov 2008 group. we know each other very well.

im not really offended by the afrikaans. its always easier communicating wih your first language at times and yes EP you guys will translate when we wanna know what your chatting about.

My older kids use normal toothpaste. A small amount though, the size of a pea.
They also rinse properly so I am not too worried that they'll swallow too much.

Have you tried an electric toothbrush!? Some kids LOVE brushing with it. What I do with Xadrian and Danette, is I brush their teeth at night, they are allowed to brush themselves in the morning. They love that they can do it independantly, by themselves.

I wonder why AmandaLynn fights you... Maybe she dislies the taste of toothpaste hehehehe.

i think the brushing thing depends on the personality of the child, Amandalynn had her first tooth @ 4 months so i started then and today 4 years later it is still a fight twice a day.

Who is going to the cape town moomie day?

As for brushing Jaqi's gums, I belive teh sooner you start with oral hygien, the less trouble you'll have later. I have seen some of my friends struggling to get their 2 or 3 year olds to brush their teeth... Not that I am judging, but I really do think if they started eralier, the 2 or 3 year old would have been used to it and there would be less fighting over it.

Jaqi is rolling everywhere she wants to be. Reuben did the same thing. He did not crawl untill he was 8 months old, he just rolled, looks like Jaqi will do the same
