Deja I bought the snookums kit at Spar, but I think every baby store has it. B knows very well how to open the cupboards when she is in her walking ring. We also have stairs leading to the upstairs bedrooms, hubby made a gate for it (upstairs) already when my sisters little ones where still small, so its just for downstairs.

Oh and very YES on destroying books, that's why we are very soon going to have a new bookcase installed with doors, because I have LOADS of books to protect from little hands.

B's been having yoghurt since 5.5 months, she loves it - had one today.
