Julz - Yes I do! If some don't bring its fine, but it will be special if some do! And I think it's just fair to expect a gift because I sended a gift for their child's B-day! Sorry just my opinion!

I'm considering having my LG's 2nd B-day party at the creche as well, because we are staying 15km out of town and very little parents are will to go through the trouble and attend the party because we are staying so far! At least then she will have all her friends to celebrate with her!

Do you really expect a gift feb. If I were to send and invite it wouldn't bother me if some didn't send a gift. I would still have given all the kids a party pack.

I guess what is important is that the child isn't embarassed for not giving a gift so maybe that is a consideration.

Yes, if you received an invite! That is what I do! And will expect!

Blue this is a great question.

I send party packs and cake to school but not invites and Dylan doesn't get gifts and I done expect any.

I personally feel it it is a bit rude to to "invite" my child to his school for a party when he is there anyway, but it has only occured once to be honest and the parent went to alot of trouble. I sent a gift and a week later we recieved 3 beautiful photo's of Dylan as a thank you which was lovely and unexpected.

His new school which he starts in Dec have a lovely policy. You may only send cake on the birthday for his class to make your child feel special on his special day. No party packs. Then all the children who have a birthday in that month have to send R20 to school and the whole school have a birthday party on the last friday.

Hi everyone.
I have a question. When my daughter is invited to a party at a party venue or
at someones house, I believe it is etiquette to bring a gift.
The trend lately though has been that the kids have a party at creche, and the parents provide party packs and maybe cake or cupcakes.
Some of the parents just do it, and don't send invites, while others actually send invites, with no RSVP and others ask for an RSVP.
The question is - for those that send an invite, even though the party is at creche,
do you need to send a small gift?
Would like to hear your opinions :)
