I am glad to hear there is at least an improvement!!

Oh, yes those pesky molars...I jumped for joy when he had all 20 teeth!

You can read the Dr. Sears recommendation for the Sinupret here:

We suggest you try a natural alternative called SINUPRET. This plant-based pharmaceutical grade natural remedy has been used in Europe for decades as the number one doctor recommended natural remedy for sinus and respiratory support, and it is now available in the U.S. Not only does it promote healthy airflow and drainage of mucus in the sinus and respiratory tracts, it also supports the immune system. Sinupret comes as a liquid or capsules. For more information visit www.bionoricausa.com/.

Hoping that your little man will outgrow all the colds and flu as well! xx

Thanks. He's definitely doing a lot better than he was in 2012, so definitely has been an improvement in his health. But his 2 year molars are cutting at the moment which is cuasing an issue and also with winter approaching i'm always on the look out for cold busting remedies :)

Huggles,

Sorry to hear you little man is still battling... :(

My sister started the saltwater gargle with her children at age 3,5 years but most articles on the net recommend from 4 years old.

I suspect the saltwater gargle is the biggest contributing factor towards the improvement.

That's really great Gloei!

Unfortunately my young man is too young to gargle still, but definitely going to look out for that sinupret. Really glad things are improving health-wise for your little girl.

I have just dug up this old thread...

I wanted to update my experiences:

I have spent thousands of rands on various vitamins/supplements/boosters/homeopathic drops/nose sprays etc etc etc....

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WORKED!! My little girl still got colds every 6 - 7 weeks.

We started with her gargling with saltwater twice daily about 6 months ago and I can say things improved!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
We also spray with Sterimar saltwater nosespray twice daily and the prescribed Avamys nosespray (anthihistiamine spray used chronicly).

She is turning 5 now and we had 2 incidents in the past 6months where she started to show cold symptoms (sneezing, runny nose, post nasal drip/mild coughing in mornings) and then I immediately started giving Sinupret suryp (highly recomended by DR. Sears) 3 times daily for 2 weeks:

english.bionorica.de/respiratory-tract/sinupret%C2%AE.html

After 2 weeks of very mild cold symptoms all symptoms cleared up without ever becoming so sick that she couldn't go to school!!

The other thing that I started giving her was "futurelife porridge" daily:

www.futurelife.co.za/

I give her 'n normal vitamin chew daily and probiflora as well, but that's all.

I must honestly tell you that I don't know if it was the saltwater gargle, the Sinupret suryp, the futurelife porridge or just the fact that she is older now (stronger immune system) that had caused a significant of reduction of colds.

Hi,

Dischem has an excellent range of homeopathic treatment. Asked to have a look at the Boiron range. My LG showed symptoms of flu & gave her the flu granules. Within the day it was gone. It's safe for pregnant, breastfeeding moomies, as well as babies & children.

Once her flu has gone keep her on vitamin C. Fun for kids to have is Cal C Vita kiddie chews.
Also citrus fruits are good. Kiwi, strawberries, oranges. Everything most kids love to eat. Also put her on an immune booster.

Yip, I'm in Cape Town so at the coast :D

So glad your LG is managing well without the meds.

The sieve definitely took most of the pulp out, and I drank it happily like that, but it was still a little bitty. If you have a tea strainer (which i don't) that would probably work better. Or a muslin cloth but I didn't feel like that mess.
