Jan/Feb 2011 Mommies (Nov & Dec 2010 early babes)

No Chris dont feel useless!! Trust me - as amazing as this woman is - there is a lot she is doing wrong with the babies!! Of course I didnt say anything to her as I think her life is chaotic enough.
But for example, when they wake, she just gives them the bottles when they are lying down, she doesnt pick them up or prop them or anything. (honestly I dont know if I'd have the energy to do it properly either with 6 kids!)
She arrived in the park (it was really quite windy and a little nippy) and they weren't covered properly with blankets.
She didnt try block the sun off them in the pram.
There is no feeding routine. They eat as they want, when they want, however much they want.

I think it's different for her though since she had 3 kids before the trips. She is VERY laid back!

Yip Vix - I dunno how she does it. As I said, I think it makes a huge difference that she had 3 kids already and all that experience. 2 of them are identical So so cute!! I must try get photos next time to show you

They put C up into the 2-3yrs class yesterday and already he seems much happier. Now instead of saying 'oh shit' he says 'oh my goodness' and it is soooo freakin cute! I now have to send in pull ups and no bottles because teacher says it's time to potty train and wean. Mmmm goodluck. We have to both go in tomorrow afternoon as she wants to have a family meeting so she can get some background on C and our family so we can work together to ensure he has a stable routine that mimicks itself at school and home. I thought that was fantastic, she sounds so lovely. They think I'm cruel though because C doesn't like juice, he rather asks for water LOL

Alex is working on my heart strings, everytime he looks at me now he smiles away cooing. He's def mommys boy! Jonathan is being naughty!!!!! Me don't very much like naughty Jonathan! He doesn't want to lay or sit when awake, he just wants in the arms, he's such a carbon copy of C in looks and personality, it's scary!

I, need to go find helecopter fabric today so I can make C a dudu blanket he will actually agree to dudu on at school grrrrrrr

Ster- it really really is tough, I had a hard time and my boy is not as small and delicate as Inge. Just keep looking, you'll know when you've found the right one. For me the key factor in my descision for the current school was simply that it didn't stink of poo and it looked clean. How terrible is that?

Maryke- ag bummer! So why didn't she ask you back for a 6w check up not a 3m check up? Well I hope the operations are successful the first time around, she sounds confident in her plan. Shame poor boys will just have to wait a little longer for those full baths! Man are they gonna enjoy them when they do get to september.

Suriya- if you want to try pigeon peristaltic teats they do fit into the NUK bottles so you can save a few bucks and just buy a pck of loose teats to try. My first born and these 2 won't touch any other teats, not even MAM. But I will say if MAM works for you then that's fantastic, they can 'self steralize' in the microwave if you put it together a certain way, add water and NUKE which I think is fantastic for when you're in a hurry or visiting friends.

Meags- wow 37w, it seems so close to the end, I didn't even make it that far! I am hoping for a smooth sailing few weeks for you and a really fantastic birth experience!

And that woman is AMAZING! I have no idea how she copes, really I don't. What an inspiration. Tell me are her trips all fraternal or are 2 identical? Usually with natural trips it's 2 eggs that get fertalized and one egg splits into 2 making identical twins. There is a woman on the multiples DVD who concieved quads from one egg, her one egg was fertalized which split into 2 and those 2 split again into another 2. There is nothing that can govern the splitting of an egg, identical twins truely are a mirical of nature.

so I am so glad I am almost 37 weeks.
waiting another 3 weeks sounds so much closer than saying 1 more month!!
so I met this mom today....all I can say is wow....
have copied my post from the march/april thread - thought it would be of particular interest to those with multiples!

ok ladies....I have just ONE word to describe that mom with the 6 kids..... WOW

She is my age!!! Infact, we are born 2 days apart! (so she's 25).
Her kids are 8, 5, 11 months and 1 month old triplets. (so yes...when the baby was 2-3 months old, the trips were conceived!!!! EEEKK)
Not only does she have all these kids at the age of 25, she is homeschooling the bigger 2.
She conceived the trips naturally!
She has no one helping her...she only moved to Miami a year ago and knows no one.
She came to the park on her own with all the kids. She does not have a car so she walks everywhere (with all 6 of them) and does all the grocery shopping on her own with all of them and then walks back home with all the kids and all the shopping.
She carried the trips to 36 weeks and they even said she can keep going if she feels like it (which at that point she didnt so they did the caesar). the smallest was about 2kg and the other 2 were about 2.4kg each! All the babies came home with her when she was discharged!

ok now how incredible is this lady????????????????????

Just a quick one, my paed said to me that the best bottles are MAM or Dr Browns (in her opinion im sure compared to others).

On the bottles I am using Nuk and don't have any problems so I can't really advice a bottle...well I have heard some good result about the Dr. Browns bottles just a suggestion

Ok so we saw the dr today and she is very upset she hasn't seen the boys earlier cause she would have wanted to operate earlier she says if the manipulation doesn't work with in the first 6 cast then sorry you need to operate so we just wasted time and money....the boys have structural feet and not packaged feet, packaged feet can normly be rectified with cast only cause that is when the feet where formed in the womb ours wasn't, structural is when there heels and all sorts in the foot don't know all the terms for the bones in the foot don't form properly so she needs to put the heel back in place with pins and stretch the tendants and more stuff I don't really understand and they will have cast on for about 3 months then another manipulation when they loosen the feet and strecth and move the pins again then another 3 months in cast after that all should be fine and we wont neet another op if all goes well, so ja we looking at september when the boys will eventually have no more cast and have proper baths wooohooo, they have 3 degree feet and the worst is 4
