Sterrejie, hope all goes well, Dr Blignaut is very nice, I know my whole family goes to her too. Why dont you try putting Inge on the Novalac AR (anti reflux)? Maybe phone her and query, its a bit pricey but I know it helped my sister's LO. The Novalac's have got a little med to help with whatever is the problem, otherwise phone Judith from Pals and ask for her advice. Hang in there about Inge and the results for the test, we'll be praying all is well.

Maryke, I would also leave Llewellyn to sleep, you dont want to get him used to that feed.

*My poor babies

The injections went ok, shame, they cried it looks so sore for them, Im sure it is as you can hear their cry is a sore cry. Anyway, I had to give them panado when I got home as they were just so grumpy, they slept for 4 hours and then the fun began. Last night Alexia bought up so much after her one feed, it was like a fountain, Athena just wouldn't take panado, she kept spitting it out and trying to feed her milk and she has also been quite congested, so out came some milk and I think some phlegm, not sure if it was just backed up spit or phlegm but it was very gooey, Athena just ahrdly drank any milk, she would only have like 40mls at a feed, Alessandro complained, if it was not the tummy it was him been grumpy, I landed up laying with each on my tummy at a time to sooth them. This morning alessandro vomited a fountain, I was changing Athena in the room and I heard it come out of him from the tv room. Poor babies. And then our night nurse sleeps more than I do I think, which is fine, but falling asleep while feeding is a no go for me, although I have done it, so I cant be too upset, but I polietly ask her to go make coffee, wet her face and go for some fresh air, which she did neither until I asked her again while half asleep, then she went to wet her face.*

So last night we all had an argument with the night nurse cos she was dozing off while feeding again or burping or whatever it was and my sister was here and also saw, but nurse woke up cos my sister got up to tell dh and then the nurse came to complain to us that she is talking about her behind her back, then we were very nice and spoke open until she carried on, then I lost my cool, so we gave her a warning, she has been workign with eyes wide open now, lol. I wont have someone sleeping who could almost or possibly have something happen to my baby, but anyway, she seems to think cos she is also a mother and "liek a mother to my babies" (which is another issue) that its fine and her instinct is not to drop the baby.

That other issue, it seems that because I haev 3 babies, there is enough to share and have everyone call my babies their babies, or am I being silly? Family is different, but the help I get? It was like that at work to while I was pregnant. Then the domestic in the day is really such a hepl with the babies and tries to relieve me so I can get rest, but what irritates me is when my baby isn't settled and they take them from me to try do a better job (angry face), and then I get so happy when they dont settle and I take them back and they settle (happy face), am I just being overly sensitive or something??

Anyway, we took the babies to the chiro yesterday, I really think it was a good thing, shame, they've had a rough week, I must go back on tuesday and do a whole bunch of exercises with them. athena is the most relaxed but very stiff between her shoulder blades, Alessandro is the worst, so hopefully this will help with all their cramps.

Ster- I'm really sorry about your bad news regarding Inge's heart! Xxxxx When Jono was in NICU he had a great heart specialist who practiced at sunning hill, Dr Sinyangwe or something like that, if you get him you're in fantastic hands because he really has a fantastic reputation. I hope Inge's murmor isn't something too serious and that can be fixed without too much invasive treatment. I feel your fear hun, when I was told Jono needed a heart specialist my own heart fell into my socks. Thinking of you! So so pleased you went with your instinct and chose a new Paed!

Hi Ladies,

My heart is very sore.
I have been reading a lot about reflux and silent reflux and thought it best to take Inge to a different pead as I wasn't comfortable with the first pead. I was reading that the heart burn can cause damage to her slukpyp (sorry canno think of the english word right now) and that she can end up with chronic ashma and I don't know what else.

Any way so I took her to Dr Blignaut (thanks Maryke - stunning lady and definately Inge's new Pead). So, she is very happy with Inge's weight and everything is 100% until she listens to my baby's heartbeat. She looks at me instantly and asks what the previous pead said about her heart - well, nothing. Long story short - there is a murmur on her heart (suising?) which is an indication of either a hole in her heart or one of the tubes that is not properly open.

We are seeing a heart specialist at Sunninghill Hospital Monday afternoon. So my "mother instinct" to take her to the Pead paid off ONLY I wanted to her that the reflux is okay and she will out grow it instead I have to hear that there might / is something wrong with my child's heart. I feel so helpless - I started crying there and then - it was such a shock to me.

Any way, we can only hope and pray that it is not serious and that it will heal in time. One bonus is that she does not have a blue colour and the Pead is so happy with the way she is growing which is an indication that it is not a serious heart condition.

Sh!t what next?

maryke - leave L to wake for his feeds. if you wake him, he will wake again with jono. emily has dropped that feed most nights.
she feeds around 8:30pm then wakes at 3am, then 6am. if i wake her at 12pm (because my boob is engorged, she still wakes at 3am, then 6am).

try leave L to do his thing, he will let yu know when that tummy is hungry!

Vix's as the boys get bigger and move more the cast come of I had to take Aiden again today cos his fell of again yesterday oi the joys
I feel you with the patience mine is:
Hubby helps me to bath the boys and put them to bed we put them to bed with there bottles so he thinks when the bottles are in there mouths it's over he can go plonk his arse on the sofa then I battle cause then the one's bottle will fall out the other one will start crying then Frances-jane is in between eventually when I get them settled it's time to do Frances-Jane. So I said to him this morning he has to help me finish of her when I am still busy with the boys he needs to bath and dress her so that when we have supper she can eat and go to bed. She gets to bed after 9 then she is so missy the next morning and she doesn't sleep well during the night then then it's really pointless me having a night nurse

Enough bitching on my side...

Ok so Llewellyn slept from 7 to 1 and then from 1 to 6, Aiden slept from 7 to 11:30 11:30 to 3 and from 3 to 6 so looks like Llewellyn is dropping a feed now the question:
Do you think I should wake Llewellyn when Aiden wakes or leave him to sleep till he wakes???

Vix i half feel your pain at having the babe on your lap while on the net, im only on when Vanya awake, i sleep when she does.

Maryke i dont know the people at ER24 coz they work in Orkney on the mines im in the city. How the boys

I think Vanya has dropped a night feed it was 1am 3am and 5am now she wakes 2am and 5am or 5:30am. We'll see if it lasts
