SexyH, just check that both seats recline if the pram is the ones in a line, some of them dont allow the front to recline, some might do I think, so just check that.

Vix...just think you have gotten so much more info on twins...so you are a walking twin info maching :D

I had a C-section with Jayden, so C-section again.

I have a wooden cot (I just love wooden cots) where they will sleep until they are older, then we will see about getting the camp cots.

I have a compactum that is blue, want to make it dark brown so that it fits in with whatever the colorscheme is going to be.

We have on pram and one car seat...SIL will find out if we can buy a twin pram (one in front one in back) from her BIL ...but we saw a new Chelino one for R1499. So will be getting rid of the one pram. Will have to look for those snug & safe seats you mention, where are they? I saw Jet also have those...maybe I will go have a look at them.

My gynie said I can choose where I want to go for the birth...since the hospital in Upington doesn't have a NICU or peds...so I'm opting for Kby or Bloem :) So excited, will discuss it with him at my next appointment in 4wks time.

hi ladies

wow, you have been chatting up a storm so early!

Binks, glad all is doing fine.

Vix, you can use your car seats in the beginning also to help with feeding. Its an idea, but will have to see how that works out.

Chan, my gynae said we will do ours at about 16/18w.

Ladies, the shop that I had mentioned is Baby Go Round, its in a small shopping Centre in Ostrich Road, off Hans Schoeman, opposite entrance to Rhema church. The number is in the phone book. I dont know what they have in stock but I do know that they refurbish as much as possible, so it might be worth a try. I'll only be making my way after bedrest is done.

WE have so much to do, I have 3 baby showers coming up between the 29th of this month and Sept and birthdays etc, and I am stuck! People will just have to understand or i must send dh or my sister shopping for me. Hopefully I will still make it all.

Does anyone have a mexican bola? Im thinking of getting myself one.

Kimika- good luck! If they declined me then anyone elses acceptance is guess work.

Chan- I am not going for a FA, My gynae says everything looks fine and he's got a very good track record for picking up problems. It depends on how you feel though, I trust my gynae wholly so I am comfortable not doing the FA, some gynaes send patients automatically and some only if they suspect something. I can't really afford the R1200 but if he said I needed it I would've gone.

Maryke- ooo we can go anywhere for a child free coffee hey? Wow, I won't have to sit in a wimpy for once LOL can we please go somewhere that sell nice coffee? I miss a good coffee and a great chat. 11 is cool for me! I'm very excited to meet everyone!

Chan- I'm jealous of your next appointment just because its a few days before mine and that will be the longest wait!!!!! LOL

Wow Congrats SexyHexy!!! Amazing :) Your hubby should think about starting to do sports betting for an income ;)

I cant believe how many multiples there are!! Amazing :) None so far in our group.. wonder if we are going to have any?

Vix, thanks for the advice, I really need to be approved for that cause medical savings is depleted already! *sigh*

Hi!!

Vix last scan was at 16w2d - this scan will be at exactly 20w as there was no later appointment! So I get to see my baby 2 days earlier than I should have!! Lucky us!

Is anyone having the 20week fetal assessment done? My gynae said it wasn't necessary but I still have my doubts if I should have done it rather.

I'll be booking my 4D scan for 27/28 weeks! Can't wait!!

SexyHexy- sweetie it sounds like you do have identical twins. The fact that they are in 1 sac can only mean identical because non identical or fraternal twins are concieved through 2 seperate eggs and will definately have their own sacs. Identicals can either have their own sac or share one depending on at which stage the egg split. I reall y think you should watch the multiples DVD, it'll really help you understand, and also the fact that Dr says it's unlikely to have different sexes. Quite often fraternal twins are different sexes.

I love the way you ask me what you need to buy like I'm a twin expert LOL but I can definately give you advicce depending onn what you still have from your son and how tight your budget is? I am doing super tight budget ttwins, in fact I'm not even planning on spending very much at all!

I am going for a twin side by side pram because it's the cheapest but I can use it from newborn unlike the strollerss (maclaren) they're. Very uncomfortable looking. I have seen a great no name twin pram in Toys R us for R1299 or Chelino do one exactly the same in Black for R1899 which you'll find in Baby Boom. Baby. City only had one in for R4500 amd not really prepared to
spend that much. If you have R5000 to spare I have seen a great pram second hand, it's full price new is about R12000 but second hand this lady asks R5000, I can send you the detais if you like, it has stroller seats but also bassinets, mozzie nets, sun screen nets, waterproof cover. It's very nice but way over my budget. It's a twinnwer twist.

You'll need 2 carseats but I suggested to someone else before, buy the snug and safe cheapies @ R300 and that should last to 9kg then buy a safeway Monza or something similar for about R900 and for R1e00 you'll have carseats for up to 5 years (or so they say)

Otherwise I think everything else is optional really, do you have a standard cot from your son? I had a camp cot so the twins will share that for a few months and then I will borrow my mums camp cot for when they need to be seperated. But if youlookk around you'll find camp cots for R500. Just make sure you have one with the high section for the first few months, after a C-sec you'll never bend down to ground level.

I have asked for toiletries and baby grows as shower gidfts, I figure dressing the babies in growers will be a lot easier when there is 2 of them.

What else? Are you planning to BF both? I have just made myself a great double BF pillow with spare covers, I'llI will work out a price and see if it's cheaper than buying one in the shops.

I have a long list of great C-sec advice if you didn't have one the first time around.

I'm not even thinking about extra walking rings or feeding chairs yet, I might tackle those when needed but with second hand stuff.

And of course nappies, you will definately need no1 nappies, probably aim to use 200 per baby per month, it mght work out more but then you don't know how fast they're going to grow. Just start buying on any specials you see. I have about 800 nappies size 1 and 2 in stock already then I have already been buying no 3 when on special. I'll try to remember to post the nappy special whenever I see hem.

If anyone has lots of money to spend on a pram/ travel system for multiples then check out twinstripsandquads.co.za they have a cool looking travel system but for just the twin pram It was about R12000
but the lady Cezanne will come to your house to demo the pram if you're innterested
