Yesterday I registered with our medical baby program, the normally give a nappy bag per pregnancy, (which I knew), but I'm only 12w tomorrow and the register you from 12w and I had mentioned that it was 3, she said they sms when the bag is ready for collection at our nearest baby city branch. She called me today to say they are giving me 3 bags!! for each child! I wanted to cry! I told her thank you so much you going to make me cry, she started laughing and said please dont, laughing I said to her, its not you, I think its the hormones, but it was so lovely, they also going to courier it to my work so I dont have to go and collect it myself! How cool is that!?

We also spoke to our medical aid yesterday, they also give us either a camp cot/car seat.

Another thing ladies, if you think you might need it, check with your medical Aids, I think all of them have it, its like a top up, where you pay like R60 or R100 a month but it helps alot when it comes to NICU etc. My boss said when his triplets were in NICU, the dr's bills came to R600k, so its quite hectic, and that helped them a helluva lot.

It made sense Vix I guess you are right, me telling him that DH thought there are two gave him reason to tell me there might be two. But at least I have knowledge from ladies like you on this forum, so that I won't be all scared and stuff Thanks!

SexyHexy, I think only reason why doc (FS) told me at 6w is because I had IVF treatment, so exactly what Vix told you, which I think is a damn good idea not to let them know. My cousin wasn't told about a possible second baby (although she did IUI), but she spent 3w of her pregnancy not knowing what was wrong when eventually a dr said to her that it is possible it was a vanishing twin, so today that is what they think but are not 100% sure. Sometimes its better not knowing what to expect because then we spend most of our time wonering "What if". Not long til you find out!

Sexy:exy- o.k this is what I was trying to explain yesterday but I must have missed the point: It's not that you're gynae isn't sure if he can see 2 babies, he isn't sure if there are 2 'living' babies, until he can see 2 heartbeats and both are growing he doesn't want to confirm it's twins. Can you imagine being told at 6w you're expecting twins then at 12w sorry one died? If you hadn't mentiond to him about 2 he wouldn't have said anything, that doesn't mean he didn't see the other baby but it means that if there were 2 sacs but one didn't grow he wouldn't need to give you any dissapointing news.

Wow, another lady here at work says she also found out at 6wks it was twins for her, they could exactly see two sacks...So just wondering why my gynie at 8wks couldn't tell for sure

Sexyhexy, I found out at 6w, so there was a possibilty of 2 canishing, but I did have a 4th sac but that was empty, even now, I for some reason have prepared myself for just incase somethign has to happen, I think that is why I am so scared of NICU, but the dr's and hospitals are alot more experienced and advanced than way back then, so just taking it a day at a time.

Vix, I think we did say Edenvale, maybe we should go to the Spur there if weather permits so thos with kiddies can take them along. ITS NEXT TO THE Horwoods farm/park or if ther is anywhere else?
