Hi ladies,
Chris- I'm glad the stitch went well. It sounds like you've got some great advice from family! Wish I had the useful advice the 1st time around, my SIL really knows how to waste money and she was the only one giving advice!
Chan- I had C on newborn size 1 until about 10-12w I think and then I went straight to no3, he was 3.2kg at birth so pretty average. I would say work on 6 nappies a day for 8w then if you need anymore buy them when you run out, rather stock up on really cheap no3ks because C used those for about 6-8m size 2ks you'll probably be able to use til about 16-20w but it'll be cheaper to use 1's and then move straight over to 3's because those are cheaper per Jumbo pack. Also, newborns need a decent nappy like pampers or Huggies because they have a special honeycomb layer (remember they poop all day long) but after a few months you can start using a cheap nappy during the day like sleep and play or huggies dry comfort and then use a huggies gold overnight. So they can sleep longer, you'll save quite a bit like that too.
Chris- do you have to supply nappies in ICU? I would think with the extortionate fees applicable to ICU that prem nappies would be included?
Mina- my appointment is 9.45 but I'm sure we won't be seen until 11ish because my Dr is always late!
I slept funny and have a really bad shoulder and neck, it's killing me but I don't think I can use deep heat.
Sexy- My gynae had seen 2 sacs at 7w but because it was so early he chose not to tell me incase of vanishing twin syndrome so at 12w when he saw 2 fully formed babies he told me and explained his suspicions from the 1st scan. Sometimes ignorance is bliss and if everyone who was ever carrying 2 sacs was told so up to 75% would only find one baby by 12w and I'm sure you can imagine how it might feel to be told you're no longer expecting twins. By 12w the chance of vanishing twin syndrome is very low but even by 8w once both hearts are beating the outlook is pretty good. Dr's are not trying to hide from anyone that they have twins but more trying to guard them from the possibility of loosing a twin before the end of the 1st trimester. Generally the vanishing twin wasn't a viable baby so it basically miscarries (if it was a singleton it would be a MC) but because there is another viable baby the body just reabsorbs the non viable baby. I hope I'm making sense, but I would say, keep your mind open but don't go twin shopping just yet, 2w isn't too long to know for sure, keep it a family secret and maybe even don't tell your son there's 2 yet.
Marie- cute scan pics! Sorry about the discharge but I'm pleased it's calming down now. Once you know baba is well the stress just lifts! But, relax, slow down and enjoy your son's birthday as stress free as possible, no use in over doing it! My son will be 2 in Oct but there's no birthday party for him, oooo no, I'll be far too big and fat!
I am so much bigger than my pic 2 weeks ago already, it's like I'm vallooning everyday.
