Ah Vix i'm sorry MS is so bad today. Hope you feel better as the day progresses.

Chris shame you really have some tough decisions to make but you'll get there eventually. Don't stress about it!

Aspoestertjie hope the ms goes lightly on you!

Maryke I also didn't do anything to my nipples before breastfeeding. We were advised against doing anything in our antenatal classes.

AFM didn't get one stretch mark in my first pregnancy. Didn't use Bio oil or anything like that either. Guess I just have stretchy skin!

Vix yip it's my next scan only on 22 July. So 22 days to wait! Thank goodness for the doppler! Still waiting for the results of my Down's blood test and iron test. They said I must phone on Friday again.

Morning All

Jip, MS has kicked in for me aswell. Really "naar" every now and then, and if I don't have something to eat every 30 minute, if gets worst. No way I am not gaining my 30kg this pregnancy again, but I take it as a sign that my body & baby wants food.

Have a very healthy little girl although I gained 30kg, so I guess I mustn't stress to much this time round. Will really need to work my butt off to get my figure back after all these pregnancies

With my previous pregnancy, I did not get any stretchmarks till about 36 week. Got some horrible once on my boobs and on my stomach beneath my belly button. Exactly the same as my mother's - guess the genetic story is true for us. I did put on Bio Oil every day from 12 weeks, and luckily never had a itchy tummy till 36 weeks. But also had a huge baby and I was huge. People also couldn't believe is was only one baby. But Hubby still tells me I am beautiful, and for now that is enough. Maybe later I'll get a bit of "work" done...

Had some afwul lower back cramps last night and some AF pains in front. Was worried about MC, but this morning I feel alot better. Also went to sleep at 19h30 till 03h00, and then again from 03h30 to 05h00, so think that helped.

Same Chris, you have some tough choices to make. unfortunately, I would not have an idea. But I am sure whatever you're getting, you'll make it work.

Yvette- My MS is killing me this morning, I struggled to eat 1 slice of toast and now I feel like it's in my throat, everytime I speak I feel like I want to vomit.

This in the womb multiples is great girls, if you didn't have a C-sec before or was wondering what goes on down there then get the DVD, they show you how they deliver triplets and quads by C-sec and a twin natural birth.

OMW I want to puke so badly! Maybe I should eat more!

DH is stressing out a bit after he's been given advice from a twin and a triplet parent, I said to him, no amount of stressing will make it better, we must just tackle every challenge as it comes. People like to scare you, it's like with your 1st baby, everyone tells you natural birth horror stories, why?, it probably makes them feel good just ignore it!

O.k so I just puked, can't keep em all down I suppose but at least I feel better now. My boy was upset, he's never seen me get sick before but he gave me huge hugs after.

Morning ladies

Santie twinnies can be a stress but such a blessing *sigh*

Vix maybe that's why I went into labour at 37w of over stimulation of the nips he he, my gyne also told me 35 weeks is a good size for twinnies if they are born I am really hoping I can do 36 at the most

Chris  I thought I had a problem picking prams and cots but you really have a decision to make I can't really give advice but you will soon now what to do moms just have a way of figuring these things out, it comes naturally...

Replied by yvette on topic Re:Jan/Feb 2011 Mommies to be!!!!!!
santie - do yourself a favor and do not get all excited about twins. my levels were in the triplet categories according to my gynae, and i have one baby in my tum. be aware that extremely high and radically doubling levels may indicate molar pregnancies and/or ectopic pregnancies. my gynae checked a few things at my first scan at 4 weeks, and then again at 6 weeks. i read up too much about levels and got freaked out abou the molar thing. just wait till your scan. you never know, you may even have twinnies :)

chris - about your pram dilemma... thinking about your post and maybe a twin pram and a single pram might be the way to go. if one tot gets annoyed by the two others and struggles to sleep when you are out, atleast he/she can have their own little space. just looking at my 10mnth old now... if she had a twin, she would poke prod pull and annoy :) lovely little thing :) get the side-by-side pram that is not too big so it can still fit through doorways otherwise the kid at the back will kick the seat of the kid infront for fun :)
about cots - campcots are the most cost effective way to go. if your hubby or dad can build stuff, ask him to build you a wooden one that has 2 slatted dividers which you can insert after about 5 months to slightly seperate the triplets. arrange it so that you can still buy normal cot/campot mattresses from the shops and they will fit into your custom designed cot thing. i'd do that :)
good luck with all these decisions :) poor thing

vix - after carrying 2 kids for your DH, YOU DESERVE to have a boob job! when i'm am totally done, i will happily go get some work done. i have terrible stretchmarks from my son - its also very much to do with your skin type. i went through tissue oil / tissue oil creme / tissue oil soap and still ended up with awful marks. my skin naturally is very dry and would be more prone to damage :( :( i am using epizone bath milk and creme now on my face, body and hands. its also safe for babies.
my MS is still shocking vix. really getting tired of this. been since 3 weeks and i'm just over 11 weeks now. poor me :)

Chris- i also think you won't go anywhere with 3 babies alone! My DH was speaking to someone who has triplets yesterday and they said they bought a twin pram and a single pram and it works great for them. They also said get used to the idea of reigns/leash' safety harness because once they're walking it is the ONLY way you can keep track of them when in a mall etc! I agree 100% because i have my son on reigns and it is the only way i will leave the house.

When you are looking at car seats ask the shop if they can come with you to check they fit properly in the car. I bought a beautiful travel system with C and when we tried to put it in the cars the seat belts weren't long enough to secure safely. o.k i have a small Chevy Spark but DH has a double cab Nissan Bakkie and even those seat belts were too short. I had to fight with baby city to take back the travel system and the only car seat that fits in our cars is the small snug and safe LOL it's only R300 but it's also the only thing that works.

WRT Bio oil, hn I've got news for you, i only put it on every other night but i still used 2 big bottles in my 1st pregnancy so if you see it on special go buy another bottle! the cost is well worth not getting stretch marks, i never got any from my pregnancy and i used it on my C-sec scar which is completely invisible unless you look too close.

Also bio oil your boobs! ah on the subject of boobs, ladies support your boobs well during your pregnancy, buy a good sports bra or something similar, the reason people end up with saggy bags (including myself) is due to lack of support during pregnancy. Mine however will always stay saggy bags now!

Oh Chris- rather buy or lend camp cots, with twins and triplets it's nice to be able to take their cots wherever you go so if you get invited to stay by a friend you can take the cots with and the babies are comfortable because it's their own bed.

from my experience, don't rock your baby to sleep, they are gorgeous and beautiful and you really want to hold them all the time but seriously, from 6w it becomes hell!

my friend had the same experience as me 1st time and now with her 2nd she puts him straight down in the cot awake and voila he falls asleep. So far he has been a dream baby!

o.k i should shut up now, enough advice for 1 night!

Hi ladies

Vix, all 4 embryo's did take, but the 4th was a BO, so needs to come out, they think that is what is from, he was looking for it in the scan but I'm not sure if he found it. But I go back to him on the 19th July, so I dont think he was overly worried, just said to make sure that I rest.

Santie, were you on any fertilty meds? or do you have twins in the family? I remember I tried reading alot into blood counts too and eventually didn't take note because when they give you the amount bracket it is a big difference, it could also mean 1 very healthy baby! Good luck for your wait!

Vix when I found out it was triplets I went to clicks to buy bio oil, I picked up the small bottle, and then had this vision of carring triplets and put it down and took the bigger bottle :)

Paisley, are or cramps like af cramps or muscle/pulling cramps? That is fantastic about your 2w leave, enjoy!

Cathm, thanks for your msg, congrats to you too!

ok, ladies, pls can I have some of our input. Its still early so we not making any hasty decisions, but we are thinking about necessary things, like prams.

So the triplet prams are not very practical, ugly looking, too long and just do not fit in the car when folded up, DH and I got a bigger car in March, I seriously do not want to get a bigger car to accommodate a pram. My sister has a singeton pram for us, do we but twin pram as I wont be going anywhere alone with 3 babies, also if I really have to, I can put 2 in the twin pram and then use a kangopouch (obviously until they are bigger). This way, both prams will fit in the car, I think it might be more practical than have the triplet pram, also having the triplet prams is a pain to manouvre around and when you go to peoples houses, they might not have enough space fo a triple pram.... Wht do you ladies think?
