heart Jan/Feb 2011 Mommies (Nov & Dec 2010 early babes)

Please don't worry about NICU!! Your babies will be fine :) Most twins do not need NICU UNLESS they have any breathing problems, and this is no more common in twins than it is single babies.

Not sure with private, but in government when baby is 1.8kg they go home, no NICU. So as long as you get to about 34/35 weeks your babies should be ideal weight. And as for going to term? This is also a possibility :)

Never give up hope!! And you can definitely breastfeed. You can actually feed them at the same time if you want!!

Well It's 3am and I can't sleep (who would've guessed LOL)

I'm feeling a bit better already, Me & Elwyn talked about it all a bit and he made me feel a bit better. I know that 2 babies is going to be great, I just fear the birth/NICU bit so much but I will read and read and try to live the most healthiest lifestyle possible and do whatever I need to to ensure these babies stay put. I have a few factors on my side, I suffer with very low blood pressure (110/70 yesterday) so hopefully pre eclamsia is not too much of a risk and I have a very narrow pelvis which kept C from ever even entering my pelvic cavity properly so hopefully if the twins can't get down they won't set of an early labour! I am going to stop all baby bear work from August and just focus on being relaxed and healthy.

Wow but the shock! And all my family members are so excited and screaming and cheering down the phone which actually makes me feel worse because I feel like, yeah it is great news if it's not you who has to physically go through it. But I've told them all, don't feel like I'm being a bad person because I can't jump for joy just yet, for me it's a reality check and the reality is emotionally hard for me right now. I will get excited but it will have to come with time.

I'm sure all you TTC'ers (some of my dearest friends) must think I sound ungrateful but Know that I do appreciate how lucky I am, it's just a bit scary for me at the moment. Thank you all so much for your excitement, it all helps me to come to terms with the news. I think if I was on a fertility drug then maybe I would've prepared myself mentally for the possibility of twins but because I was still going solo I never imagined the possibility.

Vix!!! I wasn't on moomies today and when I logged in now wow what awesome news!

I can think your feeling very stressed and worried, but as one of the girls say, as long as you take care of yourself during your pregnancy there is absolutely no reason why you can't go full term and deliver healthy, beautiful babies. I've heard loads of women say that twins are actually much easier as they sleep easier (due to brother/sister being right next to them) and generally they are much more relaxed. You'll be an excellent mom hun. Just please please take good care of yourself and make sure that you and babies get all the necessary rest and goodies your body need!

I hope you feel better soon about the news! I'm absolutely thrilled for you :woohoo:

Chan I am so glad and happy for you. Yes it feels like you wanna shout it every where and you really cant stop smiling. Treasure the moment!

Vix with your history I can think that you feel a bid freaked out, but with time the exitement will grow. I knew quite a lot of twin mommies and each and every one have told me if they can get it over again they want it the same way. You must also remember that you are a mom already so your stress levels will not be so high as with your first child. You know what to expect from a baby. Not all twin babies need to be in icu.
If you relax and take care of yourself I cant think of any reason things wont go smooth.

Good luck with processing the news and enjoy your weekend.

Hi guys,

Chan- I hope your scan went well.

My massage was nice, really well needed after this mornings news.

Thanks for all the double congrats. I was very very shocked, I haven't yet reached excited and now I feel like crying, I'm feeling very sorry for myself right now because I really wanted this pregnancy to go well, reach full term and have a colic free, breastfed baby and now I'll be lucky to make it to full term, My babies may very well go into NICU for a period of time and I may well struggle to BF 2 babies especially when they can't come home with home with me straight away.

I think you'll all remember my excitement last mmonth at only having 1 baby so although I know everyone says it's a blessing for me at the moment it's not that great. I suffered PND with my first, really don't want that again! I know I sound ungrateful, in time I will feel happy and excited but at the moment I'm having a bit of a pity party!
