Sterretjie- coming from the UK I have to say I have definately experienced colder winters in my life but I have never experienced -5 here in SA in the past 4 years. It's horrible!

Chan- I have been having terrible cramps almost every other day for a while now. Sometimes it actually feels like I'm going to get my period it's that heavy pain. Sometimes it's higher. I can't remember all these pains from my last pregnancy but to be honest I probably forgot about it, just like I forgot how horrible a newborn can be! LOL

WRT twin pram/stroller- my honest opinion is don't bother. My boy is now 20m but for months now he won't sit in a stroller, if we go out shopping I use a set of restraints. Your babys will be about the same age as mine is now when no2 is born and most of my friends can't keep their kids in prams anymore. Rather wait until baby is born and then if you feel a double stroller will work quickly pop out and purchace one.

I am so thankful for having my baby in summer! I thought a winter baby will be nice because you can wrap them up warm and they'll sleep well but there is no way I want to be up BF all night in this shocking cold and changing my boys nappy is painful for him because it's too cold. Roll on summer! Brrrrrrr

I feel a lot better today, am able to eat fine.

Replied by yvette on topic Re:Jan/Feb 2011 Mommies to be!!!!!!
binks - back then i was working for a magazine. i was volunteering for disaster management at milnerton fire and rescue for about 2 yrs before i was offered the BAA. since the course i managed to get my way into the medical field - first job as a rep for gynae/general surgery (this is how i met my gynae too :) ). i went into theatre with doctors to teach them how to use my stuff. was really cool. saw c-sections too which were horrendous!!!! so gross. i did that for a year and got into one of the biggest and best companies to work for, doing nuclear medicine, CT,MRI and Cathlab stuff.
my dream was always to be a neonatalnurse... this is the closesti'llget to working in a hospital.after thisbaby is born and i have finished working back all my maternity leave, i will look into neonatal ventilation or plastic surgery. still a long time away... 3yrs!

Morning All

Hope everyone has a nice and warm office/house this morning seeing it is so COLD!!!

Told DH this morning that I am going to tell my boss today about our pregnancy. Asked Hubby if he could see my tummy and if I look pregnant, as I still have some (much) flab from my previous pregnancy. He said I needn't worry about anyone seeing, especially my boss cause he won't notice. Then he explained how he never looks at his secretary and her body ;)

Well, as soon as I walked into my boss's office this morning, he asked whether I was pregnant again. I was so shocked as I was still saying morning and he just boldly asks this!

Had to tell him yes and explained that I wanted to tell him today. He was so nice and congratulated me. Also told me that they will also be trying for another little one later this year - made him broody with my LG last year, but he had to convince his wife first.

Oh, and then he asked when I will be on maternity leave - back to business.... :P

Still no MS for me, but felt juky last night.

My scan on Monday is luckily coming closer and I really can't wait. Want to take the day off, otherwise I will be counting the hours at office as it is only at 15h30.

Chris, hope you feel better soon. Try the panodo stuff. I however found that for headaches, drink a panado as soon as you start to feel it, otherwise Panado does nothing. Haven't tried the Panado drink, but will if I should get sick. Did not know about it last time and am kicking my ass now

Chan, don't stress about the pains. I also get them frequently, but decided not to worry unless I see RED (for now...as pregnancy progresses this changes)

My sister bought me some little boy outfits as she is sure this will be a boy. My first natural response was that this will be a girl - so I'm sticking with GIRL for now!! Bit pissed by the boy stuff, but just thanked her and bitched to Hubby. I now feel pressured to have a boy (DH family also wants a boy for their son) I don't care and neither does Hubby and that is all that matters!

Sorry for the long post, felt like I hadn't chatted in ages (probably the holiday..)

Hi Chan! Glad to know other ppls symtpoms also went away by 9w. was starting to worry some. But hey - we will always sorry.

The tummy aches sounds like bowels to me? I do not think you have anything to worry about. But call your dr. if it gets worse.
