I think slowly I will get used to the idea of her sleeping longer.

Vix, ys the novalac just basically does what gavison does, really just put a lining over it to try help prevent reflux, but she is also on the anti constipation, she complains more from th ereflux (i think), reason why she doesn't drink properly, she is generally a good baby, just the feeding thats been a problem, but she is ok for now, probably still from the bennets. Isn't the Isomil lactose free? We wanted to try not go the route of lactose free formulas (unless we needed to).

Yvette, wow, Emily is a big baby, she has grown so much! Athena doesn't cry for much and if she does cry and then sucks her dummy she is quiet,so not really great at letting me know she is hungry, but i can see her "body language", but thats why i was concerned I could probably leave her 10 hours and not hear too much from her,

Sterretjie, hope inge sleeps better, its amazing how quick these little ones learn. Re the wedding, maybe just a long dress? I see Inge is going for her shots tomorrow, you go to Pals dont you?

MommyN - I am so with you on leaving for a few hours although I will be honest night away will also do it for me

Inge is so ma-vas. Last night she drank 18:00; 19:00; 20:00; 21:00 - little bits. She fell asleep and was sleeping nicely and I put her down at 18:30 - wide awake and crying. The only way I could get her to calm down was to offer her the bottle. anyway finally at 10:00 I put her down and she did not wake up again (this after trying a couple of times during the evening to put her down). At one stage DH took her but boy did she cry. she is so used to me that even my maid cannot take her - big problem. I am now biting the bullet again and "forcing" her to sleep in her cot during the day. She slept twice in her bouncer but now everytime I put her in there she starts to cry - this madam is very spoiled and Mommy has to do something. Any idea what Supernanny's telephone nr is? I said to my mom this morning I wish she was closer as I really need her help. Inge is now sleeping in her cot and she will every time today - I must just be strong - just hate it when she cries.

We are going to a wedding on Saturday - first time away from Inge Now on the invite the dress code is "Formele Romanse" (Formal Romance) - any idea on what to wear? Most of my clothes does fit me properly yet as I am too lazy to exercise (also thanks to an "arm baba"

hey chris - about the amounts for feeding the babies... i am still breastfeeding emily but she gets one bottle a day at about 7pm. the most she has ever drank from a bottle is 120ml, and she is almost 11 weeks and just over 6kg's now. so she is a big baby but drinks less than what the tin (NanHA) says she should be drinking... so maybe don;t stress too much about athena. she;ll ask for more if she wants it, but if you are worried, give her more inbetween feeds, maybe like 30mls or so? let us know what happens here.

vix - nice one on the kitchen chick! can;t wait to see the outcome! hope jono feels better.

to the others that have asked if i still BF - yes i do except for one feed at 7pm. i don;t have milk then prob due to the mad 5pm rush and stresses till after she goes down. i don;t mind. she sleeps from about 8pm right through to 3-4am for a quick 5min feed, then gone again for another 3hrs. during the day she still feeds 3hrly. quite time consuming but i don;t mind. i love breastfeeding her. she so wriggley but when i put her to my breast, she snuggles up and her little body totally relaxes. after all, it is her most favourite thing in this whole world!

i went for breakfast with a friend this morning and when she held em, she started crying! ha! isn;t that a bit young to cry at strangers? she was quiet as soon as i took her back.

i went to look at 2 full-day places for ashley today. found a nice one for R1000pm. ten kids in her class. full meals, airconditioned etc... will prob take her there from april so Gloria (my nanny) has that month to get t oknow emily. i do everything for emily, not the nanny, except for the odd nappy change.

the nights are cooling down now nicely. had emily in her own room last night in the cot without the carrycot. she fell asleep within minutes of me putting her down. she loves it in there.

Chris- if a baby sleeps more than 6 hours then leave him/her because they grow when they sleep. it's good for them to wake naturally rather tan be woken, they feed better then.

Also i know you like the Novolac range but the AR for reflux is just made with thickener to hold the milk down so it's not actually gonna fix the cause of some cramps. Maybe try Athena on Isomil, it worked wonders for C when he was niggly during feeding and sleeping (when he did actually sleep) but once i put him on Isomil he slept better, drank easier and was all round much happier.

The boys where fine last night had there suppository and woke to drink at 10 and 2.30 at 4 Aiden woke up screaming and feverish then with all his screaming he woke Llewellyn gave them some stopayne rock them a little and of to lala land again woke at 7 drank a bottle and fell asleep again till 9 again must say they not as niggely today I am just so glad I didn't need to give so much pain meds last night like the night before

Mommyn after all we are still a woman and not just a mom we also need some me time I am taking me time the weekend of the 13 May going to Sun City with the gals and lucky hubby understand me time is very important for your own sanity...

Shame that you having a bad time with SJ with NJ but that too will pass

My sister bought me bumbo's for the boys and now they can't use it hopefully my sister still has the slip and I can go exchange it for something I can use

This weather is so nice for the boys feet they dont swell as much as they would have in the heat and I find they not as niggely please weather stick around till friday
