BlackDiamond, i had bleeding all through the 1st tri up to 14 weeks, and my baby is perfectly fine. But call your dr is you are worried.

Oh BD, I'm so sorry about the bleeding! It doesn't sound like anything to worry about but it must still be super stressful! At least you've spoken to your Dr and you aren't cramping so just try to take it easy....a good excuse to put your feet up infront of the TV or with a good book...

I went for my 8wks scan last week n all was gud,finally had a sigh of relief knowing that..but now..
Yesterday morning I woke up to dreadfully findin thatt I'm bleeding..*worried* ..no pain n its not at all heavy just minimal..cos I then bathed n for the rest of thge day there was nothin..this morning I noticed some bleedin again wen wiping @ the loo..iv since put on a pad n it was still light..now I'm 9wks now n my Dr said it myt happen as it happens early pregnancy,but I'm so scared now even if thers no noticeble cramps..iv once ms n I dnt it to happen again..

I'm also in CT but Southern Suburbs side. And also using midwives but going to give birth at Constantiaberg Medi-Clinic. A waterbirth does appeal to me though....look forward to hearing how yours goes!
I have also been pretty 'strict' with what I do and don't eat but think I'll relax a bit now....just wanted to get through the first trimester and make sure everything was fine...

Thanks for all the circumcision input....it really can become quite a heated debate and I appreciate that it hasn't become one in this thread! Pat - don't think it would have occured to me that it couldn't be done over a weekend So will just have to wait and see when this one decides to make his appearance. I definitely liked the idea of not having to be there when it's done in hospital.... think I'd also find it traumatic to have to be there.

Durbanville Mediclinic is actually closest to where I stay, but I'm having a home water birth, and my midwife mentioned a gynae at Louis Leipoldt, which is close to work for me (Parow), so I'm going there. His name id Dr Frikkie Smit, I phoned 6 weeks ago and he was fully booked so it was very nice of him to squeeze me in at 7h30

It's exciting to find people that are at the same stage as me and in the same vicinity

just want to add to your circumcision convo:

My son was circumcised in hospital at 2 days old and in 2008 it cost us a total of R1800 i think.

Because my twins were prem they could not be cricumcised at the birth and now they are big enough they still have to wait til 10m.

Because they are no longer newborns they are easily stirred by movement so a local anesthetic won't work they have to have general anesthetic so they must now wait until they are big enough to cope with the anesthetic.

so either get it done in the first 3w or you'll have to wait a while
