TaNasha I feel your pain hun, and the anxiety you must be feeling right now must be hectic!

My baby is also 1 in 1000. She has a few congenital heart defects, had 5 in total. 2 were fixed surgically, 1 has closed on its own, 1 they are not worried about, and 1 they will fix when she is an adult.
Kaylee is 7 months old and had her first heart op at 8 days old, it was life or death. We never had a fetal anomaly scan so we did not know it before birth. We had good blood results and a low risk pregnancy, and there was no indication of any problems so when we found out we were devastated and as with you, we never imagined something like this could happen to us. I have 2 friends whose babies are/were very sick. One sadly passed away at 3 months old, while the other is beating all the odds and doing amazingly well, so thats 3 people I personally know (me included) in my circle of people I know which is maybe 300?

The feelings of 'its not fair' and 'why me' are very real and i still feel them every single day! But truth is you do what you have to to cope, you feel pretty crap and sad and desperate but you go on, cause thats all you can do really.

But I really hope your amnio comes out with good results and that your stress will come to an end soon. Truth be told you'll always be stressing about your LO though, thats part of being a mom, but hopefully you wont have to stress until LO arrives and you can enjoy the rest of your pregnancy :)
I will keep praying for you.

Meantime, if you want to chat about your feelings with someone whose been there, you are most welcome to contact me.

First angel resting 25/06/2009 stayed with us a short 7 weeks but we still miss you.

Thank you for all your kind messages!

I am praying with all my heart that everything is ok. I dont think I would be able to say good bye to this precious little baby.

I keep thinking i need to be grateful, as it could have been so much worse. But I still cant help but feel thats its so unfair.

Thinking of you Tanasha - ((HUGS)) - so true we always tend to think that these things just happen to other people. Keep us posted on the results.

TaNasha, you have me in tears here. Like Vix, I can't speak from experience. But you will be in my prayers.

My cousin had a cleft lip and palate, and you can't see a thing. She is now 18 years old so we are talking about old technology. My dh's cousing has a baby boy who was also born with a left cleft palate and lip. He is about 3 now and you really can't see where the cleft was. If you want to, I can get you in touch with them, I know they will be willing to speak to you and help you understand what to expect.

Good luck for the next couple of days.
