Lollipop maybe you could get a letter of motivation stating your reasons for using VP! I honestly is your best option when it comes to having a vbac. x

Here is the pickle, my medical aid only has the Medi Clinics as the registered hospitals, otherwise I get all sorts of co-payments so it seems VP is out.

Hi!

I am using the midwives at Birth Options (in Plumstead) and my back up gynae is Dr Dumbrill. I really like all of my care providers and am pretty sure Dr D supports VBAC's . Vincent Pallotti is probably the most pro-natural hospital you'll find (other than mowbray active birthing unit) so would definitely consider it. I changed gynae's and hospitals in my second trimester as I really want to make sure I have the best chance possible of having a natural birth. Hope you find people who'll support you and your wishes! Good luck!

I'm seeing a client tmrw who"s with Dr Beneke (only because her own gynae away) trying for vbac but hospital has all sorts of stupid restrictions. CB hosp does not have a good reputation for vbac's at all. You need to do research & see which gynae's/hospitals have the higher natural birth rate & go that way for vbac. W

I can vouch for the Dr Searle/ Birth Options combination.
I had my son at Vincent Pallotti hospital with a private midwife (Ciska of birth options) and Jackie Searle as a backup gynae and couldnt have asked for a better experience. Complete peace of mind. Ben was born in 3 hours without pain relief and Im a complete wimp when it comes to pain :cheer:

Try www.birtworks.co.za they have a list of midwives. The site is very pro natural birth.

If the web doesn't work, replace the works with worx.

You can also have a look at www.vbac.co.za.
