Ha ha Tanasha - Sorry but that's just too funny. OK after I had Kayla, the first thing I said to my midwife when she came to check up on me was: I can not believe that any woman will ever go through this more than once!! How can any normaly woman have more than one child??? And she said - you quickly forget! And I told her no ways - I will never forget and I will never go through this again. Kayla was not even a week old when I already tought it really was not that bad - I can't wait to have another one! You do forget. But I will never forget how proud I felt when my daughters were born and I will never forget how heartsore I felt when Callum was born. You do forget the pain.

And just my part on hypno birthing - it can and will totally work for you if you truly believe and put your mind into it. It surely did help me when I had contractions before my c-section and I can honestly say that I did not feel any pain when they gave me my spinal (twice as the first one did not work).

Mumsy - I had one of each!
A pretty traumatic, agonisingly painful, screaming, crying natural labour of 14 hours, then over 2 hours of forced pushing with 2nd degree tear and episiotomy - 14 stitches.

Then a pain-free 1 hour 48 minute labour!

I have seen both sides of the coin!

TaNasha, I mean this in the nicest way possible, but from a Mom that had a quick natural birth with only gas and air for pain relief... hahahahahahahahaha... yes I thought it too, until it was time to push (ok, from the first contraction) and someone rubbed tabasco sauce on my woman parts and then ripped me open and poured some more in...

There is so much that I thought I would do and would not do, and some much that I judged other first time Moms for that I have done or now do myself.

But then my Aunt claims that child birth was painless for her and she could not understand what women were screaming about, so that does happen too.

Oh, and within half an hour of having my son I was talking about having another one, so you quickly forget, or rather gloss over it..

No part of your birth was 'wrong' Meags :-)

Lots of moms make noise as a release and a focus - I know lots of midwives that actively encourage toning (releasing primal or instinctive sounds)

I really believe all moms just need to find the birth that is right for them and their baby, as you say HypnoBirthing is not for everyone - just as a caesar or normal birth isn't the right choice for every mom either..
