If it is twins I know it is a HUGE blessing from God but at the same time I'm currently screaming silently in my head. Champers, is there a pathcare in Durban/Westville? I just phoned Lancet @ Crompton in Pinetown and they told me I need to be referred by a doctor...

WOW WOW WOW! Michelle, that is a super big surprise. Sjoe. A blessing really. Wow. Do you or dad have twins in your family? Just asking because people keep joking with me saying they think I'll have twins.

Blood tests, you can go yourself. Just go into a Pathcare and they will do it. Not sure if they would be prepared to explain the results to you though.

hey Bronz, yip they're exactly the same size- I tried to scan the pic here at work but it came out all dark and distorted, will try with my scanner at home tonight. I didn't know that about the blood test and my GP didn't say anything

It would explain the constant unrelenting nausea I suppose.

I'm just going to take a deep breath and relax, there's nothing I can do about it today. I will phone my gynae's Nu Shifa practice tomorrow and just hope she can see me within the next week and I'll ask if she can refer me for the blood test in the mean time. Actually, do you need a doctor to refer you for a blood test or can you just go? Does anyone know?

Oh wow! Were the beans the same size? May be go for a blood test, they can normally pick up that there is more than one for how many weeks you are, as your hormones will be higher. I will try find you the link to compair the hormone levels too.

Ok so I'm now totally freaked out

I went to my GP, everything is fine and on track but he picked up a 2nd bean on the scan!!!!!!!! He did an abdominal scan and he couldn't get a clear picture but there's definitely something there. So now I'm desperately trying to get in to see my gynae so that I can have a transvaginal scan done and get some answers but her Westville practice is fully booked until the end of October. Her receptionist said that her Nu Shifa practice will have earlier appointments available, but they are only open tomorrow so I have to wait until then.

I sat in my car outside of the GP for about 20 minutes afterwards because I couldn't breathe, totally panic stricken.

Congrats Black Diamond. With our first pregnancy we also lost it at 9 weeks. Let us know how the Dr app goes. I'm also stressing till I see the Dr. Another 2 weeks.
