I know what you mean about the morning sickness. I was so ill with my previous pregnancy. I had morning sickness literally the day before my c section. Nothing helped. Thank goodness I dont have it this time round.

Anyways, morning sickness kicked in with a bang this weekend at the 9 week mark... mine should be called all day sickness though, it's terrible. No matter what I do- eat, don't eat, drink, don't drink I'm just constantly and it's really starting to get me down. Yesterday morning there was nothing left in my stomach and I was still throwing up... spent the weekend on the couch feeling very sorry for myself

I also bit the bullet and told the dad this weekend... his initial reaction left a lot to be desired but by last night he'd done a complete 180 and now he's super amped. This morning I had to tell him to take a breath and calm down, we're only at the 9 week mark!!

Anyway, hopefully there'll be more moomies joining us and hope everyone has a good week!

Morning! Champers I couldn't get in to see the doc, too busy!! I've got an appointment for two weeks time but I'm also on the list in case there's a cancellation before then.... I was thinking over the weekend about how you're stressing about all the partying & drinking but if memory serves me correct, the umbilical cord doesn't start to function until about the 8/9 week mark- up until then bean gets all it's nourishment from the yolk sack. So I'm sure your bean is just fine!!

Thanks Lucy for the well wishes, I'm still in shock but also super excited. I've always wanted a 2nd child but had given up on the dream because I've given up on men as a species... lol.

As for "daddy", we went to school together and we've been friends via fb for years as he's been living out of the country- only came back about 2 years ago. We never had that kind of relationship and were never attracted to each other- it's amazing what effect alcohol has on you!! I don't actually know how he's going to take it. I'm actually more nervous about telling my family- I feel like I'm 15, not 35!!!

Shame you are in quite a situation. Are you going to tell "daddy" after the dr? Do you think he's in a situation to step up and be part of babba's life? I am surprised that the pill didn't work PLUS you weren't in your ovulation time. Wow.

But as they say, everything happens for a reason. Please let me know how you get on at the Dr. I wish I could manage to see mine sooner. I'm going to get the pregnancy test from Clicks which tells you exactly how far you are.

I hear you though... mine was a huge surpise, totally unplanned. Long story short, mini school reunion, old school friend was staying at my place and on the saturday night had faaaar too much to drink due to extreme stresses going on in my life at the moment and one thing led to another. The next morning we were both quite sheepish & embarressed and I rushed out and got the morning after pill but at the same time I figurered it would be ok because it happened during a "safe" time and my cycles are like clockwork. So you can imagine my extreme shock after firstly having been stupid enough to have unprotected sex during my "safe" time AND taking the morning after pill, I find myself pregnant!!!! And I've had a good friend's hen party and wedding the past couple of weekends which also involved alot of partying. I haven't told the father yet or my family, the father doesn't even live in the same town as me.... pretty much got my head stuck in the sand until I figure this out. I'm going to try and get in to see my doctor tomorrow, but he's pretty booked up- hoping for a cancellation.

I also got a big surprise today. I am very irregular and have a gorgeous 9 month old conceived via AI. I realised that I'm a little later than usual. Going by my sums and online calculators, I am due 20 April. My dr is away till next month so I will have to wait.
Also, I'm stressing because I have been partying like its 1999. I'm worried that all my heavy drinking may have done damage. I am so upset. With my son, I never touched a drop of alcohol and now this baby may have damage....
