I had my daughter there in 2007. My gynae was Dr van den Dael (sp), and while I am very blah about him...I am still singing the praises of the 1 midwife/nurse who all but delivered my baby. I cannot for the life of me remember her name, but I will never forget her face or her voice, telling me how strong I am and just being my own personal cheerleader for the 3 hours I was there. Natural Vaginal delivery, no drugs...boy did I need a cheerleader!!!
All round I have no complaints, but that was almost 4 years ago...so I dont know about now.
I will be giving birth there in November (although would have preferred to have gone to Cape Gate Medi Clinic). I haven't actually been to Durbanville's maternity ward yet though so can't comment on that.
I am currently with Dr Wynand Truter (AN Truter) - his rooms are at the medi clinic. He only delivers at Durbanville though hence the reason i can't birth at Cape Gate. But he is absolutely fantastic and i would highly recommend him.
Could you pleeeaaase give me some feedback?! Who of you have given birth (natural & c-sec) at Durbanville Medi-Clinic and what gynies there are good!!??
