Hi Bulelwam,

Its nice to hear you are getting ready for the big day. Don't stress to much about the EDD, baby comes when baby's ready...

Enjoy the ball, it should help a lot with getting baby lower.

Thanks for the updates, its nice to follow your story!!

Well, got myself an exercise ball this weekend, game was having a special.
Brought it to work and will see how it is sitting on it rather than my office chair.
I'm a short person, 1.57cm, and my chair is just slightly high so my feet tend to dangle unless I'm sitting on the edge. And by the time the day ends, my feet are slightly swollen.
The ball is nice, bounce on it to and wiggle my hips....found a you tube video on using the ball during pregnancy and it advised just doing that to prepare for and during labour.

Will use the ball while in labour too, so am practising bouncing on it as well as my relaxation and breathing exercises.

6 weeks to go, not counting this one, till my EDD.

Keep y'all posted.
Cheers

Thank Spiral, I will definitely keep up with the practice. Nef said I have to do the relaxation and breathing exercises everyday and the BH give me a good opportunity to do so.

KC is very calm and I trust her totally. Am not even worried we dont have a backup private doctor.

Just need to take things one day at a time now, I'm getting excited about the homebirth am about to jump out my skin. Trying to occupy myself with other things so I dont get impatient.

Will keep y'all updated.

Cheers

Hi Bulelwam,'My experience of vbac labours is that it is very beneficial to have lots of BH as they help stretch the scar gently. SO practice your breathing & relaxing when you experience them. Also - the labours can be anything from fast & furious to slow & laborious.....excuse the pun. But your midwife is very chilled & will definately help you find your way thru...

Well now, past week or so I've been feeling Braxton Hicks contractions late at night.
Yesterday, I had a dull ache like period pains and this morning my tummy was a bit loose....
Think this body is getting ready......can't wait.

Got a wonderful sound clip of falling rain and I was using that to relax last night...worked like a charm. Don't even remember falling asleep.

I'm gonna have to get used to these breathing exercises, I get breathless when I practice them...hopefully am doing them right.

These weeks will drag on I tell you....maybe that is a good thing!

Ah unfortunately you couldn't.. practitioner training is only open to midwives, hypnotherapists and hypnobirthing moms..

Hope you do it though, had a few women contact me from around South Africa in remote areas wanting to train, one hypnotherapist is in the UK now training and wants to join forces with me - its exciting how it is growing

Yes Nef, that's the other reason why I want to be an HB practitioner, I want to make a difference and there is absolutely no once here in EC that's currently doing it.
Wish I could do it whilst on Maternity leave......

I would really love to be a work from home mom and that could help me on the way too.
