Horrible Gynae Visit

I am actually happy to update that I have been seeing Dr Y Moodley at Clinton, and both my husband and I are very happy.
We are very comfortable with her and we look forward to our visits as well.

I just wanted to thank you ZoeCat for naming and shaming the Doctor.

I havent really had time to go online and for some odd reason a friends mom mentioned to me to look up online who was a good OBGYN and who wasnt.

So I googled my current OBGYN and came across your post and I definitely related to your initial post! I was due to see her tomorrow and have cancelled. I really only have stuck with her since March due to the fact that on a saturday she has an assistant which is a lovely lady.

I would have been seeing Premilla tomorrow (this would have only been my second time) im currently 6 months - scary stuff.

I also started putting a few other things together which made me so worried. I didnt sleep saturday night nor sunday night because of all these things adding up.

I phoned the Mulbarton Hospital to ask if they could recommend an OBGYN that delivers there and so I have made an appointment with Dr Dwarka - Ive had one person who has been to her and said she was absolutely lovely, so hoping I have the same experience!

Mags, I'm so happy that you found someone you can relate to. Its so important to choose RIGHT from the start, and yet so difficult. If you don't feel comfortable with someone, you should change right away.

One of my clients was just told by her gyni that there is no such thing as normal birth, only vaginal birth or C-section. And if she chooses to have a vaginal birth, she must have an epidural and he will cut an episiotomy and use forceps to extract the baby. She is 35 weeks and now looking for another care provider as she is shattered by his attitude. Isn't that just horrible? And the stupid thing is, that she has to consent to all of those things or else he is breaking the law, but he is just telling her that she doesn't have a choice...

Just to give you an update...I saw Dr Malebane at Mulbarton and he was....FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!

He was everything you would want from a Dr , especially as a first time mommy! He was kind, patient and answered ALL my questions.
Can you imagine a Dr that's JUST as excited as you are to hear the heart beating for the first time!!! For a man that does this everyday...you could swear he was the father!

He also gave great advise about diet, exercise and even great books to read. He even had advise for my husband
We thoroughly enjoyed our session with him.

Yes, I will definitley give an update of my visit with Dr moodley.
I plan on giving birth at Clinton, so Dr Moodley for me is a good choice.

I'm doing my research now on Clinton/Mulbarton gyneas and hopefully can get an appointment to see someone soon.

No, have not considered a mid wife. You see, its my first pregnancy so I don't know much.
and 'm so thankful for this forum.

I will read up on Midwives as well so that I can clue myself up on it.
