Crap, forgot what I was going to post about can you say porridge brain?

Anyway, I stumbled across a blog last night, I guess it's like a blog to keep faraway family updated on how things are going, they did an update when their son was 3 months old and included how many nappies he's gone through since birth (this mommy has an app for everything on her phone, keeping track of feedings and nappy changes)

Well from birth to 3 months, so far he's gone through 847 nappies!
Holy Cow! Multiply that by over R2 a nappy (I'm not even sure how much they cost nowadays)

With B first time round (2009) I used cloth and wrote down how many we used, then did the math on how much it would have cost had we used disposables, deducted a bit for water, electricity, some soap and vinegar and put the money we saved away for her for when she's older. One day, I'll give her the money (or the bank account) and ask her if she has any mental scars from wearing cloth hehe

Can't wait to get them out and use them again!

Magz and Mandri, sorry if I missed it but where are both of you from? Tell us a bit more about yourselves, sometimes it's so hard to keep up, especially when I read only the emails and they usually come through on my phone while working so I read with half an eye

Nothing much to report this side, still not feeling any movement, had loads of crampy pains today but the dark red/brown discharge has subsided but really not feeling myself. Can feel my body trying to get me to slow down, was very light headed today, but anyway.

B is giving her father grief tonight, he only got home after 9 last night and she was in bed already, so tonight he has to put her to bed and it's 8:15 and she's still shouting and stomping around in her room, her daddy is such a pushover!

Mosaneo - don't worry my medical aid day to day is also finished already. With the progesterone and blood tests it didn't stand a chance! Already paying everything except my gynae visits out of our pockets. But I will try and make a plan just to make sure this little bundle is okay.

Good Morning everyone

Yesterday was bad but today i am feeling better because i had coffee and i hear it is not good for me but it makes me feel so much better. i pray this feeling lasts. waking up in the morning and coming to work is still hard though, i feel very tired. i have taken four days leave from tomorrow to rest maybe week 12 will be better.

Welcome to Mandri, its so nice to have more people to share what we feel together, i luv this forum it lifts my mood. Marijke i hope you have nothing serious and it goes away soon.

i owe so much money to the hospital and gynae, my day to day funds on the medical aid are finished and i have to pay cash. its sad coz then i will only have money to go see a gynae maybe when i am 5 months pregnant in July . I guess as long as i do not get sick and the baby is fine i will pull through.

Marijke- i dont think we can ever have TMI ! The more we share, the more info we have (esp. as a 1st time mommy i have NO IDEA what to expect)!

Ms_S- you are one brave woman if you concidering the MIL option. In my case I would prefer to just suffer in silence! (yes, she's THAT bad!)

Mosaneo- hang in there hun...just think of holding little baba in your arms in a few months time!

Hey everyone

And welcome Mandri!!

Went to the appointment, went well everything looks great, doctor was very happy. (tmi again, sorry)Didn't mention anything about the pieces of mucus plug as I know that it regenerates and it's normal to lose pieces, the first piece was after standing baking for 5 hours and the second was Sunday evening after ironing for an hour, just after going to the toilet and wiping.

And now all of a sudden I have a permanent discharge, dark brown and some period like pains. Not too sure, just want to lie down but feel so lazy and there is so much that needs to get done!

Anyway, will keep an eye on it and let you know how it's going.

Ms_S, if you get along with your MIL then let her move in!!! I'd do it in a heartbeat but have no love lost for my MIL after the incident earlier this month

Wow Mosaneo..and here I thought my ms was bad! I don't think I'll complain ever again. Although I also can't wait for the 13-15 week mark so that it can all stop. I hope you have enough energy to get through the day.

AFM I am soooo tired and lazy, I hardly cook anymore. I've suggested to dh twice now that maybe he's mother can move in and help me (she really wants to), but everytime I chicken out and say I'm only joking
