Hi GML – Sjoe that’s long a lot has changed since then. The HR department at the office even said that I can do it online but they don’t know how soon you get your payment etc.

I will have to go and ask or maybe find someone who recently gone through the process.

Thank you, I am also relieved that we are past the 28 weeks and we are going strong there is no sign of this little man coming soon. I am however annoyed with him for moving because now I don’t feel kicks any more I only feel when he moves and when he does his weird dancing like moves in there.

Hi

I cannot recall how long it took. That was about 5 years ago. But I do remember being pleasantly surprised when the money was in my account....

Whats crucial is to ask the first time you go if there is a drop off box and where it is located, then ask how long it takes for them to process those documents in the box etc. Rather leave there knowing rather than coming back and struggling to locate the box (if they have one).

MommywannaB- So glad you've made it past 28 weeks after the scare with the placenta. ;)

I think maybe I should try self and then get the agency,

At least I have the option.

Did it take long before you got your 1st payment?

I would say go on the day your maternity leave starts and see how it goes.

If it doesn't work then try the agency. But I don't remember struggling with my son back in the day....

nunuza - I know hey and all that info is really not necessary but yet again that’s my opinion.
So what do you suggest? Should I get an agency or should I do it myself? When can you actually submit your paperwork? I have never in my life claimed for UIF so I don’t know anything about anything

nunuza- I am thinking of taking the same leave. But that means we are essentially taking more than 4 months unless you're combining it with your annual leave... but I'm not sure if I still want to be here till that late in November.

I'm thinking my last day should be 19 Feb.

MommywannaB- I have no leave days as I started this job about 6 months ago. Lol
