@GML, the spinal leak sounds hectic! I'm glad they could sort it out in the end.

@nunuza - Hubby is probably right. Our trusted friend google can be a foe too! I did the same with my first child - went on YouTube and watched video upon video about all kinds of birth. And I wanted them raw - for some reason I didn't trust the ones they sell at the shops. Felt like they were cooked somewhat. Lol! I struggled to sleep that night with all those images in my head but I found it comforting that two experiences were the same. While other women screamed like there was no tomorrow, other literally just yawned their babies out! LOL! So I just decided I'd be somewhere in the between that! ☺️

I've been a Moomie for a long time, but haven't been active for probably the past 3 years. This will be our 3rd baby. I'm due on 10March.

My previous births were natural in hospital, but I'm going to Genensis this time with a midwife.

Looking forward to chatting with you guys.

Hi ladies

A spinal leak is when the spinal fluid drips into the incision they made when they administered the epidural. The results were a terrible headache when standing upright and the inability to move your neck. In essence the only time I felt better was when I was lying flat on my back.

The doc had to draw blood and insert blood where the initial incision was made- which is hard given that 5 days later he had to try and spot exactly where the incision was made. He had to feel my back and where I felt sensitivity is where he then tried to find that tiny hole. needless to say, the had to inject various amounts of blood in order for the blood to clot thereby closing that hole. I felt better almost immediately. For 5 days I couldn't hold my baby properly. But at least he managed to fix me up.

MommywannaB- I never watch such things for that very reason. Go with what will make you comfortable.

Personally- I don't like getting wet for any reason other than showering or swimming... Hence I wouldn't consider a water birth. my hubby wouldn't want to either

@GML - What is a spinal leak? Is that when you leak fluids from your spine?

I am in such a state sine last night. I was on youtube looking at Water birth and it doesn't look bad at all so I am considering that, however a link came up with normal birth so I watched the clip and OH HELL NO that looks pain full and just weird. In the end seeing the mother with her baby my fear went away but then she gave birth to the placenta and I couldn't sleep last night.

@GML - I had a great experience! Praying for the same if not better! What happens when you have a spinal leak?
