@Inca - Must be so nice to be self employed. Especially once baby is there, then you have a bit more flexibility. Which travel system did you guys buy?

@MTC - Yes I agree, you must not stress at all now. I believe God provides for every little baby that he places on earth.

Morning Ladies :)

MTC: Stress isn't good for you or baby so take it easy. You are PREGNANT :) :) :) Hoping your medical aid will pay for the birth. Now all our financial "stresses" start. ha ha.

Nikita: Besides tender boobies and sensitive nipples, no other symptoms - hope it stays that way :) I'm 5 weeks, you are 6 weeks and Jay-Bee is 7 weeks? That is so cool :)

I'm self-employed so will have someone working for me over my maternity period so will get some form of income in. Definitely not as much as normal as I need to pay the other person 50% of work that comes in and still need to pay for business expenses on top of that.

At the moment, we are also trying to be money smart as we need to renovate before baby comes and the renovation is going to cost quite a bit.

We could not help ourselves last night - we bought our travel system :) :) :) :) :) :) :) I'm so super excited!!!! Will arrive towards the end of October. I know it's super early but I have every faith that everything is going to be absolutely fine in this pregnancy :) Wish 3 weeks could fly by now to our scan!!!

Ninies.. That's an idea.. I will do that, hopefully they don't recognise my voice! Hahahahahaha!

I think i have a POAS addiction or I just can't believe I'm actually pregnant... Due to the fact that I don't feel pregnant

@Ninies - So glad you found something that works.
I am not sure if my company will pay a % or how they will pay for maternity leave. I will wait until 12 weeks and then I will talk to HR. I am also going to start putting extra money away for nappies etc. and will buy toiletries every month, maybe 2 things at a time. I am also lucky with my medical aid, our savings are depleted and I have 8 x gynea visits and 2 x scans and then 8 x dip stick things. And next year most of it will come out of our savings, but at least we have something so I am happy. I will then try an put the money away that I was going to use on the doc visits so saving saving saving :silly:

Morning ladies,

@Nikita - I am starting to feel better. Just also still very very bloated and gassy. I've started taking movicol, so I dont feel that grumpy. It is so weird, but I have felt something move in my tummy, but I think it is my intestines and not the baby. The baby is way too small to feel now. But I also heard they say that a second time mom feels movement earlier than a first time mom.

@MTC - So did you come right with Momentum? That will be super awesome if they will cover you. Are you also going on the custom option?
You should maybe try and phone them again and not give your details but just ask the general question that if you take out medical with them will how long is the waiting period to cover pregnancy. That way you will have peace of mind and can start planning.
I stress easily, so I would be so stressed out by now. I am already trying to make plans to buy extra household cleaning materials every month that I can stock for the 3 months that I am on maternity leave so that I dont have that expense.
I think my work will pay a % of my salary but obviously I will have to make another plan to fund the shortfall.
Is everyone else's work paying them for maternity leave?

I picked up some more maternity wear yesterday that I ordered online from Mr Price and they seem so comfy. Have not started wearing them yet, but will probably start soon.

@Gib - good luck hun. Everything will be fine.
