Just want to introduce myself but firstly say congrats to each and every expectant mommy!

I live in CT with hubby and own a little family bakery and work with my husband and mother in law. I've been diagnosed with infertility since I was 23 when I had my first ectopic pregnancy. Fast forward a 7 years and after seeing a fertility specialist who did a laparoscopy we fell pregnant only for it to end in an ectopic pregnancy. So we started very expensive IVF treatment and after 3 rounds we finally fell pregnant with our beautiful twin girl and boy. It was a dream come true. All we had hoped for and all we had wished for was ours. But on 16 Nov at 18w3d I gave birth to two sleeping babies due to infection/cervical incompetence. We were devastated and the months that followed have been the hardest of my life but I wasn't willing to give up on our dream and after 3 more rounds of IVF I am happy to say I am now almost 12 weeks pregnant with a singleton, my rainbow baby (baby born after loss - rainbow after a storm). We are scared but excited. Might have to do a cerclage but seeing our high risk obstetrician and maternal fetal specialist this week. I'm hoping we can just have a normal pregnancy. We find out the sex this week too. Can't wait.

So happy to have found this forum where I can chat and be excited!

Hey ladies,

So I was back at the GP this morning as he wanted to do another sonar, he found the gestational sac in the uterus and measured at 5 weeks and 3 days putting the due date at 25 May 2016.. But I didn't see anything in the sac, his sonar machine is extremely old and it wad on the tummy scan not internal which does make a difference...

Myself and my fiancè went to Baby City and looked around, things are super expensive! We found a pram we like by Graco, so I'm hoping to buy that after 12 weeks...

Slimabaso, I know a syrup called Emex is good for the morning sickness and of course safe in pregnancy, ask at your local pharmacy, shame hun I'm hoping it eases up soon...

Ninies, how you doing? Yeah, I'm looking at the Tommee Timee electric breast pump.

I'm feeling rather good this evening, not many symptoms...

Ugh. The nausea is really at its worst for me now. Any tips or meds that I can take? I really can't stand it.

My boyfriend told his parents and they were ecstatic about being grandparents. I personally don't have that excitement in me. I feel gross and exhausted 100% of the time. I cannot wait for this phase to pass.

On the plus side, we went to Baby City this morning. Window shopping was fun. My boyfriend absolutely loves going to baby stores :)

@EMJ - the health platform covers the 12 gynaecological visits at 100% of medical tariffs. My doctor is contracted in with momentum so they pay 100% of his fee. Maybe a good idea to check with your gynae whether he is contracted in or out. But in hospital charges they fully paid except for the aneathasist that is not contracted in, but momentum gives you a list of doctors that they fully cover, so this time I will get one that is contracted in with momentum. With my son this account was almost R2000 that I had to pay. All the best for your ttc journey.

Hi everyone!

Congratulations on everyone's pregnancies!

I'm not pregnant - we only plan to start ttc towards the end of the year, but I read through some posts when I get a chance every once in a while - very informative :)

Ninies - You said you are on the custom option of Momentum - I am as well and I was wondering about something (hope you don't mind me asking). The health platform that gives you the 12 gynae appointments - how much of the gynae fee do they cover? I was just curious how many little things is not covered that we should budget for if we are lucky enough to get pregnant.

Enjoy your pregnancies ladies! :)
