Zee- sorry to hear about your SIL's mother and that you won't be celebrating your birthday as big as you would've liked but it's your 30th, you definately have to do something special! Love DH's comment about dying cheaply LOL
I'm sure there are plenty British tourists parading around rustenburg in T-shirts only. It's just their way. My sister bought 2 new bikini's for her holiday at the end of April. Needless to say I never saw one LOL it was cold but she insisted it wasn't so bad and had sleeveless tops or even strappy tops on some days. My goodness, the Brits are crazy tourists!
It went to -5 in JHB last night and I can tell you it was hideous at 5.30 this morning, we actually re made a fire at that hour because it was so cold we could barely stand still. C woke up soaked from chest to knee from a leaking nappyt, I am now gatvol of Pampers. Back to huggies gold for night time, just hope that helps because otherwise I'm at a loss. Huggies Gold are just so expensive. I will try dry comfort but the amount C drinks I doubt they'll last the full night either. They really should make a nappy especially for boys because all the wee goes in the front, the back is practically dry. I've never really had too many issues with Pampers but this box I bout that says 12hrs is the worst nappies I have ever used.
Simone- during the match the Vuvuzellas give so much atmosphere but I was just irritated by the blowing during National anthems but I see that has finally stopped. The BBC are talking about editing out the VuVuzella's for their broadcast but to be honest they'd have to take out all the crowd noise which will ruin a match. I can't see the issue as long it's not during the national anthem. The British can be akward at times!
So, sorry to say that last night's match was a complete disaster! What on earth happened to Bafana's game play? It was as if they got too confident after their draw with Mexico and thought Uraguy would be a push over. Crazyness! Ha ha and pleading with the ref after the goalie was red carded. Don't fight with the most powerful man on the pitch!!!
I have to go to PTA tomorrow with Elwyn, there are a few girls looking for Matric farewell dresses so I need to go give quotes but Elwyn is leaving early so a looooong day for me tomorrow.
Sorry so many of you had crappy nights! Mine is just the pain of leaking nappy at 5.30 but in -5 C was not a happy chappy!
Julz- those first few 'strict' nights are horrible but I found it never stopped this time, I have no idea why but 2 weeks later I still found myself fighting with C for an hour to go back to sleep. I however have no problems going back to sleep like yourself so that must have been seriously irritating. Glad you enjoyed the Whiskey night.
Nicole- I have no suggestions for you sorry! I also thought C's problem might be the teeth but no meds or any amount of Prodol stopped him from waking often.
Simone- forgot to say, I definately think it sounds like Addy is ready for a big bed in her own room. I thought that me laying with C would make it worse but it*ks worked so well, he now knows he doesn't lay in my bed at all, I lay wirth him at bedtime, then if he wakes I just take him back to his bed and lay with him, some nights I also fall asleep but it's fine, he doesn't complain and when I realise I'm in C's bed I just leave and go back to mine. I am barely awake for 5 min in the night now, it's as good as a toilet trip and Zi'm snoozing again. I must say though, C just has a regular single which is a nice height for me to get on and off. We saw a toddler bed yesterday and there is no ways I will get up and down from that easily.
Can they really judge you on your credit rating when looking to employ you? That's terrible if so. If you're not black listed I can't see why they would have an issue, so you're making small payments but you are at least paying, in the midst of a recession (and no I don't believe we're out yet and won't be for a long time) I think it's only fair to look at people for their professional qualities. People should be employed on their ability to do the job not financial status, race, social status or because of their style. So many well educated professionals are loosing out on jobs because they don't look right. I once fought for a gig I was highly qualified to do but the person they chose was skinny, attractive, and was happy to flaunt her assests yet she had no expertese in the position, in fact she couldn't even sew but the 'star' of the show demanded his wardrobe staff to be and I quote "pleasing to the eye". I fought that case and I got the gig because I refused to allow the quality of the costumes to be defined by the look of the staff!
I can't get C to keep shoes or socks on even in this weather. I have to do washing too because we're out of clothes but it'll never dry.
Oh yeah, the window in C's room has cracked all the way up and down from the cold. It has had a chip for about 10 years which has never changed. This sudden cold -5 and then the sun beating right down onto it this morning has done terrible damage, if we touch the window it will just fall out. So the fitters are coming to put a new one in this afternoon. So now you get the feel for just how cold it got here!
