Morning ladies,
Ankia- I'm so sorry you had 2 fall outs with your family. I'm kinda on the fence about this one cos I think it's natural to write a 20 page list of instructions do's and don'ts and send a million things with, I did exactly the same when I sent C to my mum, so much so I even labeled the choc nesquick from the pink and when to give which (duh). My mom was very polite she took the instruction manual along with C in the car and assured me she would do her best to stick to it, I'm sure she got around the corner and turfed it out the window because they had no routine with him for a week while he was there but in my mind I sat in hospital 'knowing' that they would cope with the guidelines I sent. I think your sister should've just agreed to follow your instructions to purt you at ease but that doesn't mean it would've worked that way. C was also VERY awkward if he got out of routine which is why I sent a ton of instructions but actually as Simone says when they go to stay with someone else everytrhing goes out the window and you'll be surprised just how well behaved they are with other people even without their routine. I had a hard rtime when C got home to get him back into his routine because he was with my mom for an entire week but it wasn't the ensd of the world and ulrimately I look back and realise how lucky I was to be able to leave him with someone to give me the quality time I needed for the boys' birth. Perhaps you could have a little chat with your sister and explain it would make you feel more comfortable if she could at least agree to consider your routine and try to keep her ways as close to yours as possible but also you do understand that as long as he is fed watered and loved you know he will be o.k. I think your sisters biggest problem is clearly that she doesn't have kids nor even a DH to run around after so she doesn'rt understand the need to have routines that help your house to run smoothly. As for your mum, I'm having a similar issue with mine, I haven't left the boys wirth her since everytime I do and try to get something done I have to stop what I'm doing and rush back to relieve her because realistically she can't cope. I think she's a bit put out that I haven't asked her for a few weeks and I've gone back to my old ways of taking the twins everywhere but for me it's easier than to stress over how she's coping. Try to reassure her that it's not that you don't trust them to look after W but that you know he's just too much work and needs someone who can't jump out of bed to chase his behind in the middle of the night if he gets sick etc. I'm glad you're experimenting with where to leave. W now so that hopefully by the time baby A arrives you will be able to focus on the birth and not stress over the well being of W. You watch, after all of this baby A is going to arrive at 10am and W will be at school til 5pm when DH can affords to leave you a little while and go bath and feed W. Try not to stress too much. Xxxx
Zee- wow booking bed! Exciting and 27th Sept sounds not very far away! I laughed very hard at your dreams of frantically calling me expecting twins LOL I had rthose exact same moments with Ally when I found out about the twins, that was the first peerson I thought to call when in panic mode LOL
Ally- sorry I missed your birthday hun, kept trying to write on your FB wall but my BB has been playing up and crashes whenever I try to do certain things on FB, think I need a software update. Hope you had a lovely dayx
Nayeela- not sure if you still read here but happy birthday to Kamillah, I can't believe she's 2 already! Congratulations on raising such a beautiful girl!
Yoza- I agree sounds like Siba's current school is treating him as a burden which is not fair and that is probably adding to the situation. It's terrible that the schools act in this way, I can't believe it, I have a friend who's child seems to struggle at every school she sends him to. I must say I think if you find the right school Siba will progess in leaps and bounds, he just needs a bit of support and encouragement. C has his very awkward moments at school and somedays he refuses to do as everyone else does (I think because he was at home for so long) but they don't force him, one of the other teachers or helpers will take him aside and try to work with him to make him feel more comfortable so he can eventually join in. I don't think he would've coped at a different school, he needs a lot of one on one attenrtion at times which I could see the other schools weren't able to provide. It helps that the scjools here aren't too expensive but I have him in the best non montessori school in the area and it definately shows, they are a much more caring bunch of ladies. I hope you finsd a school that is run by people who enjoy children and not just one that see's $ and finds the kids a burden.
