You ladies are just two sweet.

Julz: To be honest as a parent you know when something is not right and to feel sorry and cry does nothing for me. There are two ways of looking at it spend money until i get the help my son needs and that is what im doing and i told dh to get on with the programme. I refuse to do this alone

Simone my friend owns challenger so they start now and then do grade 0, grade R and she has said the pressure on the kids to be school ready is rediculous. They assess the kids. The problem is that once kids start school there is almost no chance of a child repeating a year now which means they get further behind so if we are in doubt in anyway then it is best to repeat grade R.

My friends kid was born in Dec so a year younger than the other kids in his creche class. The dumbass teacher said that he couldn't write his name and couldn't concentrate etc which is rediculous at age 3 as there is a huge difference between 3/4. A younger child will not be able to sit as long and concentrate on one thing for that long and will then be labled as a trouble child or ADHD etc.

I guess it may not be the case, but one has to keep it in mind. I think it would also do harm to a child's confidence if they can't manage to do the tasks the older kids can do. There are some that say it is good as it encourages the child to do more sooner, but I don't feel that way at all.

Christi but the kids go to Grade 0 now and then Grade R and then Grade 1...so I'm sure by then the school (and you) would know if she's ready or not to go to school? I found that initially Addison and her cousin had huge differences (cousin 4m older that Addison) but I find now that gap is closing....so I'm sure in 2-3 years the gap should be non-existent? Maybe my judgement is a bit clouded due to my own experience though...as you and Julz have same concerns. I'm sure when its closer to the time I will assess the situation better.

Hi Everyone,

Helen, glad to hear you are feeling a bit better!

I'm also not keen on sending Iris to school just after she's turned 6. She has a cousin who was born in Jan 2008 (technically they are the same schoolgoing age) and the differences between them is HUGE, so I just feel that it would be hugely unfair to have 2 children who differs with almost a year in one class.

Simone, sorry to hear you "wasted" your meal :-) I know the feeling, but I'm glad to say that it seems this time round I'm not having MS all day & every day, thank goodness!!!

Ally, HAPPY BIRTHDAY in advance :cheer: Hope you have a wonderful day! Glad you enjoy your new phone!

Maarten also got an iphone at the end of March and he is just loving it!

Mandy, glad to hear Cam gave you a bit of a break.

Well, got loads of washing to do today so enjoy your day ladies!
