Hi Ladies,

Helen, thanks for hosting Mandy's shower for us, sorry you had such a bad time with the kiddies afterwards! Hope Nina gets well soon!

Nicole, we really seem to underestimate a lot of things regarding our kiddies. I thought we were gonna have countless accidents with potty training, but its actually going very well. We have even gone on a few trips (like Mandy's shower) without a nappy and had no accidents. I still let her sleep with a nappy on though its mostly dry in the mornings.

Simone, Iris never wanted to take a dummy, no matter how hard Maarten tried ;) And now with Kota, we got 3 different ones (1 in a Huggies value pack, 1 in our Vitality bag, and 1 in the Netcare bag) but we haven't used it either. He does tend to try suck on his hands, so will see how it goes, but I don't want to introduce the dummy to early for fear of nipple confusion.

Mandy, good luck with the final couple of weeks. Sorry about the leg, I also had that with both pregnancies, but at least this time it seemed to stop at round 36w.

Lwasi, Thank You!
Glad Amu is doing so well with potty training! Sorry about the pooing, cleaning those dirty undies must be THE worst...

Julz, good luck with everything!

Vix, hope you are doing well...??

Lisha, good luck with the house selling & finding a new place..! We were also thinking of selling and moving to a bigger place, but the bank didn't come to the party with a big enough loan, so we are rather staying and building on and getting a pool installed, all hopefully early in the new year. Had the architect here already and should be receiving the 1st draft of plans from him today, can't wait... :woohoo:

Kota is doing really well, drinking nicely and sleeping very well between feeds. Iris is driving me a bit crazy cause she just wants to hold him and if we are not watching she will pull him by any limb she can reach to get him closer...

Ok, let me go finish some stuff, hope everyone has an awesome week further....

Thank Julz, i also underestimated K, i expected him to scream/cry/not sleep etc, but he really suprised me. Only thing now is he expected a gift for each day he is of the dummy lol  How is it going with Dylans birthday planning, have you been able to find anything in the theme that you are doing?

Simone i would go with what your suggesting, what until baby has been born and you can see his temprement etc and if a dummy will be needed etc. Each child is different so you never know!

Helen sorry about Nina's ears. How is she doing today?

Ally party preps sound great (as always)!

Mandy sorry about the leg, not to long now and your beautiful daughter will be in your arms.

I am very excited for K's party, i know he is going to love every second. Also cant wait to see how the 3D cake turns out! The grandparents are reall going all out this year, the IL's have bought him a motorised car (which i asked that they buy him rather next year as i thought he would be to young, but they bought it for him anyway) My mom has bought him a pool that has two seperate swin areas divided by a slide that he can slide down, it always has hoops that spray out water, she also got him one of those car racing things that the cars go up ramps and around loops, a lightning Mcqueen car and a gun that shoots foam pellets.

Great news Julz that you are already getting yourself "out there"

Lwasi - Hello -good to hear from you.. They do say that going cold turkey is the fastest way to teach them, and causes no confusion, so you are doing the right thing, They say 2 - 6 weeks max - so dont change much, just keep going!

Nicole - Cameron took about 3 months while pooing at school while refusing to poo at home, and i discovered it was because of the little toilets at school compared to the big toilets at home.. I bought toilet inners etc and pottys and nothing worked, until one day he held on and did it himself.. so i dont think there is much you can do to convince them until they are ready!

Simone, my right leg is going dead alot lately! and if i lean over to pick something up, I get winded everytime!! damb this baby is TAKING OVER!! :) :) hope this month doesnt take forever! I keep applying some pressure to the area where her head is, and moving her away from my groin, but it only lasts for a few minutes til she goes back..

Okay gals - for those of you doing party prep, enjoy ! and charge those camera batteries!!

chat later

lol about the dummy Simone. I hate the things and refused to give one to Oliver, he sucked his thumb and then he stopped oif his own accord, I think when he cut his top front teeth which was probably around 6 months. Nina on the other hand, she cried so much and wanted boob all the time that I was desperate for her to have a dummy - needless to say madam was not interested, I tried everyday for about 3 weeks with 4 different brands, warming it up, dipping in gripe water etc etc, the little madam would have none of it, she would not take a dummy and then I think around 3-4 weeks old she found her thumb and that was that. She still sucks it now but only when she's tired or hungry, usually its only when she's in her cot and there's not much I can do about it. So with one I didn't want him to have a dummy and it all worked out fine, with the second I was happy for her to take a dummy (to shut her up!!) and she would have none of it... ;)

Addison did neither...so will hope for the same this time round. IF he shows signs of wanting a finger though...will go and buy that dummy with or without G's permission.lol

The dummy can be a life saver and often babies suck their thumb instead which is far worse than a dummy.

Thanks for the support girls. xxx
