Hi Everyone,

Helen, sorry to hear you had a 'meltdown' but I'm sure you felt better afterwards :) I agree with the other ladies, best to get it out...

Vix, photies? I'm sure your kitchen is gonna look stunning!!! Sorry to hear C is still giving you the cold shoulder, at this stage all Iris wants is me and that is driving me crazy...

Nelria, I have to agree with Vix, since we made and installed the cupboards ourselves and did the mosaic on the walls ourselves, I guess you could say it was free labour, and we still spent nearly R50000. And we had to settle for Formica tops not granite :( We bought the accessories at wholesale outlets and saved loads there as well and bought the mosaic on sale for about a 1/4 of the normal price. We didn't even move any plumbing or electrical.

Lisha, the massage sounds divine!

Ok, I'm gonna pass out on the pc now, so night ladies....

Helen - I really kinda feel bad that i saw you for the braai on sunday and didnt know that you had been through a rough time! I want to remind you that having a baby is a trauma - lack of sleep, tremendous new responsibility and an unknown baby for the first few months causes soooooooooo much anxiety until you really get to know what every cry and sigh means!! on top of that a very new house with all sorts of issues, sick cats, roof leaks, work and money issues and ANOTHER toddler as the cherry ontop - Whom as much as you love, you never get a break from! AND your mom staying and I know as much as you love her, its an extra person to worry about ! plus a husband who although is supportive so much of the time, has his own set of needs from you! I know we didnt really get a chance to actually chat on sunday but that is pretty much how it will be when there are 3 children around us, so maybe we must go out for cocktails one night soon so that we can be childless for 2 hours or WHATEVER!! just time alone!!

Sorry Zee, I missed that in your post! glad you are okay!

Vix - hope the kitchen goes smoothly!

Your charity pitch sounds exciting Ally

Lisha - thnking of you and your gran! Hope you find a way for shrey to sleep through again soonest!! I still feel blessed with sleeping through, although I dont mind one wake up every few nights as they usually last 3 minutes or so and then cameron tells me i must go :)

Julz - those nights where you and your two year old get through a whole lot of time with no screaming, biting, fighting and putting ones foot down ( from you and he) are AWESOOMMMEEE!

Nicole - we have all lost our tempers in different ways and felt bad! you are human after all ! luckily our kids are very forgiving and Im sure you will get lots of hugs and kisses and will want even more hugs and kisses over the next few days

Hello everyone

Julz lol at Dylan. I do agree with you that when Cole and I are alond together he is quite fine but as soon as Nicky is there he is a nightmare. Had a fallout with Nicky just last night because it was almost 9pm and he was playing hide and seek and over exciting cole so obviously getting him to bed was a struggle...

Helen, I agree with everyone else and glad that you let down your guard and let all your emotions out. Hugs and kisses to you.

Zee, so sorry about your scare but please take it easy.

Nelria, so glad that you will be in your house soon. LOL at Lea for teaching her cousin all the little tricks.

Yoza, hope you are feeling better

Ally, I am so glad that you are doing so great and can't wait to hear about your latest idea is all about.

Anyway got to do lot of drama here as they dried to brake into our office last night and then this morning a poor homeless man had an epileptic fit outsite our gate and the ambulance to over an hour to arrive.

Cole is sweet and naughty all rolled into one and such a character.

Will chat more soon

Hi ladies,

Sorry I've been scarce, things have been hectic here with the kitchen and since Monday Jono has had a fever which is going down wth meds but guarenteed 6hrs later it's back again. Thankfully it's under 38 but soon I'm gonna have to take him to the quack I think.

Zee- wow, what a scare, I was one of se lucky moms who never had a drop of blood in either pregnancy but I know I would've freaked if I did. Thank goodness everything is o.k anf your gynae was available to scan you, the worry alone is just too much to bare. I hope you are actualluy resting as prescribed but if I know you well enough it's probably not the case Mrs workkaholic. That job will give you a nervous breakdown one of these days. I'm going to sms you now, I hope I don't make you cry again......

Julz- oh man, I just love our boys and their pooping stories, Dylan and C are like 2 peas in a pod, at the weekend C went and pooed on the grass, I told him it was naughty and he said but max (our dog) poos on the grass got down on all 4's and pretended to be a dog LOL

Nelria- I will echo Julz comment, R45,000 must be a very basic kitchen or free labour. Our Granite is R10,000 cooker and extractor another R10,000 we have a fair amount of cupboards so they total R45,000 with the soft close attachments that's without any labour, we had a door and small window removed and a large window put in place, the plumbing and electrics have all moved, then there's the gas fittings. I have a huge double sink double drainer, that things cost is over R2000 so we have pretty much R70,000 just is raw material outlay. But I did sit and do a uick tally and actually it's more like R80,000 we've actually spent. Oh yeah plust tiles, floor and wall has cost us nearly R8000. I know we could've done it cheaper doing the labour ourselves but this way it's stress free and has a years guarentee on everything and since we were taking against the bond for it why argue over a few thousand. It's tough enough being without a kitchen for nearly 3w by the time it's completed.

I just phoned the Paed, he says if Jono is going 6hrs between temp spikes then it's probably just a viral thing that will pass in time, if it gets worse or hasn't gone by monday I can bring him in because then it's probably bacterial but I mustn't stress while his temp isn't close to 39 I can just bring Jono in when I have time. Nice of his to be so reassuring on the phone.

C was insistant on wearing a nappy all weekend although he never actually made a pee in it, he took it off everytime, just an insecurity thing I suppose. He's back to pants since yesterday again. Only makes poos in the toilet, refuses the potty (oh but appparently the grass also works nicely these days too grrrr)

Elwyns story is going to be printed in the May issue of L&L so watch out for that one guys.

Helen- I'm sorry Nina is giving you a hard time. The little emotional breakdowns are helpful from time to time, I had one in Checkers the otherday and I feel a whole lot better and more confident since.

Julz- as for how people with more than one kid cope...... I'm still wondering so if you find out will you let me in on their secret? Actually the twins are easier than C!

C STILL doesn't accept me to do anything.....grrrr it's getting frustraiting now. I can't leave the twins with my mum just yet because she's so not ready to look after 1 baby never mind 2. I can just see watching her with the twins when we've gone over for dinner, she has zero coping skills when they cry and cannot multi task and sadly with 2 baba's you have to be able to multi task. Oh well some more training and I'm sure she'll get it. I sometimes wonder why I'm the only one who can handle both babies alone, even Elwyn sh1t's himself if I suggest he looks after the twins. I'm only human, I mean, I know we all joke about being super woman but we all know that really I'm the same as each and every one of you, a mother. Why do we have the ability to do these things with our kids that others can't?

O.k mind is blank, am on phone and it sucks so will catch up again before I continue replying

Hi Ladies

Helen im agreeing with Julz and lisha, the meltdown was proberly the best thing for you - to get rid of those frustrations etc. Im so sorry to hear that Nina is not herself again. ((Hugs)) to you mommy, your are doing a fantastic job :). So terrible about Theo's gran, that really dissapointing about the ambulance!!! I hope she feels better asap.

Julz glad potty training is back on track and yes i also wonder how these wonderful mommies who have more than one kid cope!! I sometimes feel that im not coping with just K.

Julz i have also moved K's bed time from 20:00 to 19:30 since Saturday and his actually sleeping alot better, also settles down quicker.

Lisha the full body massage sounds like heaven!!!!!!!!! I hope you are not coming down with the flu again.

Vix has been really quiet!

Ally sounds like you are working on exciting projects again :) Good luck with the trainer, im sure you will feel more motivated and its more healthy to!!

afm, i feel so flipping bad this morning, cried actually, K was refusing to put any clothes on and we were already running late, DH and I were fighting, K was screaming his head off, i eventually screamed back at K and gave him a hiding on his bare bottom, he cried so much and didnt even want to look at me, felt soooooo terrible as i dont usually react that way. worse of it is im not even going to see him today as i go straight to my photography class until 20:30 tonight, dh is picking me up with him, but he will proberly fall asleep in the car :(
