How are you all doing? I just shouted at Z because I found "myne beursie" on the grass with two R20 notes strewn around it, she conned my poor mother of the money yesterday and was telling me that she was going to buy some sweets and then she just threw it on the grass!

Any hoo, had a tough Monday, completely exhausted tonight, I'm having visions of my bed ...

Nicole, so funny about the fishing net, they can be very possessive of their stuff ... Z has broke a gazillion stuff in this house but she will go crazy if we break something of hers ...

Yoza, congrats on buhle's first steps! Cute! So precious that Siba is so gentle with his sister.

Afternoon

No doubt I won't get very far as Oliver is due to wake up any second but I just thought I'd have a quick pop in

Saturday was lovely, Vix and Zee thank you so much for all the effort you both went to, I've given Oliver the bubble bath and he is mostimpressed that its now in a bottle he can pour himself (I usually buy a mommoth bottle of bubbles so its too heavy for him to lift!). I arrived super late because Nina had decided that instead of sticking top her routine that day she was going to bring it forward by an hour - always when you want to do something they decide to be different from every other day.

Oliver thoroughly enjoyed himself and so did I - Vix I am mega impressed with C, he seemed totally happy sharing all his toys He's a sweet child

Vix - Before I forget I somehow managed to walk away with Alex's spoek doek (sp?!), so sorry, I probably wouldn't have even realised except it has name embroidered on it We'll have to get together sometime so I can give it back and bring you those nappies - now that I'm working from home maybe I can come for a visit one day if you fancy it? Thank you for making us feel so welcome, we drove away saying what a nice time we'd had. I have to be honest I actually dragged Theo along, he wasn't too keen to join and I can hardly blame him (being surrounded by mummy chatter lol) but I knew it would be good for him to be with another bloke who is in a similar position lifestyle wise. You are so right that having kids changes your social life, its hard for Theo - none of our friends have kids so I think he sometimes feels a bit out of it - (especially as we don't have DSTV so he can't get involved in the rugby/football conversations either lol). Don't get me wrong Theo has plenty of friends but none of them can understand how having a child changes you etc and whenever they get together all they do is drink and they don't stop hounding Theo to get sh!tfaced with them (and sadly my husband is too weak to argue although he always regrets it). He enjoyed chatting with Elwyn and I think it made him realise how much he would like some more mature male company As for his work, he's the regional manager for a company that sells decorative wrought iron components (for gates, ballustrades, furniture etc) and he runs the Johnannesburg branch, so yes its sales but he's based in the shop.

Oliver had a nasty cold towards the end of last week and now poor little Nina has it, she was so miserable yesterday her little cry was so forlorn and she kept looking at me as if to say "mummy why do I feel so bad boo hoo hoo', poor thing. I got a big fright on Saturday night as the runny nose started to kick in she couldn't breath and she kept choking in her sleep, not nice. I got the Olbas Oil and humidifier out and that seemed to help, I think she's over the worst now as she's in much better spirits today.

It was lovely to see all of you on Saturday, as always there's never enough time to get round to chatting to everyone!

I must be honest i am not pleased that K is on a dummy, but it does provide him comfort and because he doesnt get it unless it's sleep time it has not affected his speech at all. At school he even goes to sleep with out it.

It was so cute yesterday he was sitting with my mom and cousin and telling them all the names of the animals in his book, he sounds so cute when he days dinosaur lol.


Then yesterday Dh broke K's fishing net by mistake ( K uses it to catch bugs etc) so keiran ran to me and says" oh no mommy daddy broken net" lol. Dh felt super bad.

Julz: there is on concert coming up 22 Feb. Im not sure if its the last one ill check webticket.

Vix: Buhle is only turing one on the 3rd of March. I need to talk to leigh about a cake for her bday.

Vix, I believe you! For us the dummies aren't cause for concern just yet so I'm ok with them still using them for bed times.

I think I would be more keen to take it away if they didn't just give up their bottles also. Speaking of which, I should be getting rid of all 16 Dr Brown's bottles I have that I don't need. I wonder if the Hospice will be able to sell 2nd hand bottles.

Nicole, the twins are also fully potty-trained during the day now, with the exception of a poo-accident here and there. I think they are still learning to control their bum muscles and sometimes it comes without them knowing, but they've bothed poo'd in the toilet a few times so I think it'll take a few more days for them to get control over that too. And they are waking up with dry nappies all the time now so hopefully soon we'll be able to try a night without nappies...just the thought terrifies me!!

Vix I agree with you about the dummy! Our paed never really comments but you could see he wasn't keen for Dylan to still have it and I can't believe the difference in his speech with it gone!!!!

They are meant to take a while to potty train and I am sure that C will sort himself out in no time.

I guess we all do things differently though and Ally it is great that you take the kids into consideration with regards to their comforts.

Yoza buhle is doing so well.

I was also thinking of taking Dylan to a concert at kirstenbosch. All the big gigs are almost over though.
