Ally we stopped using sippy cups and juice bottles months ago...I actually gave every last one away. I figured she`d just have to learn with a normal cup and she drinks tea out of a cup...glass or plastic. Drinks from normal glass, etc. So I vote for letting them mess and figuring it out...spills and all.

My mom made the most divine lamb curry and beef stew for lunch. She also made tongue but I don't eat that.

Julz- so pleased to hear Neil is a bit better, I'm sure he came home already this morning? Hope your toe is o.k.

Helen- I'm so pleased Nina is better on the S26, sorry for your pockket but it's only a year and she can go over to regular milk so do what you need to so to make your life easier. Yay on Oliver with his words, they'll come thick and fast now he's started. Try explaining everything your doing with Nina to him, I have C help me change bums and put babies dummies back and I find he now explains everything he's doing back to me. Since I bought the tweenies home his vocab has grown enormously.

Julz, I'm so sorry about Neil's kidney stones, my uncle also gets them often. Glad he's better though.

Helen, so glad the S26 is a better fit for Nina. THe twins were also very unhappy on NAN so we moved to Lactogen and it was incredible the difference it made. They started sleeping through at 10 weeks because of the Lactogen. (and lucky for us it was the cheapest of the formulas)

I went to the girly breakfast yesterday and it was lovely. SO nice to be with all my school friends again. Everyone's getting married. I'm not that close with most of the girls so THANK GOODNESS I'm not invited to the 12 weddings happening this year. Only going to one in March. I love weddings but I cant afford all the gifts and all these girls are quite wealthy and I wouldn't feel right giving them a R50 present.

We're going shopping now. Just need to get the twins some new juice bottles, their straw cups are starting to go now and the other non-spill bottles we bought them aren't non-spill anymore so want to replace them. I want to get them drinking out of cups exclusively now but they are very stubborn and mess the whole time. What to do? I think they drink so much fluid because it's just more convenient with the straw cups? What do you girls think?

helen - that is awsome news girl re formula - weird thing is when i tried xen on lactogen he didnt like it wasted 4 small tims trying then he tried nan he took it after 2 tins i decided bugger it tried lactogen again and voila now he drinks it - I am cheapskate so maybe if u have nan left over give it a go again in week or 2? once she is settled just for budget?

Vix u and Elwyn will have your baths eventually;-) i`m sure it`s going to be tough for a while to have any connection with hubby...we all know eventually as the kids get older there`s more time for mom and dad.

Had a busy day. We were at the mall and Addison sitting in trolley and tells me: `Funny face! ` And then sticks her fingers into the side of her mouth and stretches it! Lol. Heaven alone knows where she comes on that!

Hi again

Neil is doing much better. Seems he has passed the stone and didn't feel it so that is great. Yes they are going to have to make a plan with the others but they are too big to enter the small spaces like the urethra which is a blessing. He is quite happy and pain free so I am sure he is coming home tomorrow morning.

I had a kidney stone removed when I was 18. OMG it was pain like I have never felt before or since. I felt really bad for him this morning.

Helen I am thrilled the s26 is working. Dylan was on it too and no hassles really. Alot of moms say it causes constipation but our paed never told us to change. He loved it! Ouch re bee sting!

Vix and Nelria I am so happy that you guys are enjoying your babies this time round. A colic baby is really hard work. Hard to love something that cries non stop hey. x

Anyway I am going to turn in. Just going to take pain meds. Hurt my foot too today and have no idea how.

Everyone else, Hello!! I've forgotten everything else.

AFM - I have to say a big thank you to Vix, after reading your post the other day suggesting I try the S26 I went ahead and did it, I'd had a really unsettled night with Nina the night before you posted and she still wasn't getting anywhere close to finishing the Nan so your post gave me the push I'd needed so I went out and bought a tin and OMG I have a different baby!!!! She was struggling to go 3 hours between feeds during the day and never seemed settled or satisfied but still wouldn't finish the Nan when she did feed and would fuss over it, now she's on the S26 she's happy to more or less finish the bottle and she's going 4 hours between feeds during the day and then only wakes for one feed at night. Both mummy and baby are soooo much happier Means we have to dig a bit deeper into our posckets but its definitely worth it. I hadn't realised finding the right formula could make such a huge difference! She's growing so fast, she's just so long, long legs, long body and turning into a real little dumpling. She smiles a lot now and always follows Oliver's voice and looks at him very intently, I'm sure she knows he's her big brother. She giggled for the first time the other day, I nearly cried it was such a sweet sound

Oliver is really starting to improve with his talking, we are at least getting the start of words now eg if I ask him to say yellow he says "ye" and "re" for red etc etc. He must really seem so far behind most of the LOs here lol! Oh and shame, he got stung by a bee today, it must've sitting on the handlebar of his bike and got him on the very tip of his finger, he was beside himself but I think it was more because the bee hurt him rather than the actual soreness of it!!

As for shoes, I'm with Vix, very few of us Brits ever go anywhere without them lol, I'm a moeffie like Brett (LMAO Nelria ) and can't go without something on my feet otherwise I'm like "ouch, oh, ouch, ouch, oh" as I walk cos the slightest little bumps hurt my feet

Anyways, that's all from me, enjoy the rest of your weekend I'm going to pour myself a large glass of wine and enjoy a packet of Maltesers I got for Christmas - Theo's at the cricket and I've been saving them for a night I don't have to share LOL!
