Re milk supply, I think Christi is right that expressing doesn't empty the breast so that's affecting your supply. You're doing great already so if they need the top up you know you've given it your best, especially since you're feeding twins.

Helen Nina seems like such a chilled baby. Glad she's settling down nicely for you & will keep fx that she continues only one wake at night.

Simone so did you finish watching Brothers & Sisters yet? I was upset at the end of last weeks finale

Nicole K is usually such a good eater so I'm sure he will get over this stage soon.

Zee lovely that Z is so loving a classic. The only thing Shrey seems to afraid of these days is thunder (or as he says 'under' lol). Last week he had a dead cockroach in the dust pan and was running after me with it ........ GROSS!!!!!!! And if there are works or anything around he wants us to get it onto paper so he can carry it around too

And yes that's what I put in the cosmo's too but I add a bit more cranberry juice so that the vodka isn't too strong ... I am a weak drinker lol. We definitely should get together for Cosmo's

Had a nice evening with Shrey. Simone was telling yesterday how her working sil still takes time to teach her daughter stuff so I taught Shrey shapes yesterday, well he knew square & triangle before then but I added circle to the mix & he caught on nicely. Then I was being too ambitious with his book of 'interesting things'. He could get the animals & insects etc but it also had music instruments which he isn't familiar with so he got bored and went off after 30 mins.

Anyway got to run. Only finding time for one post a day now

Nelria, glad you are enjoying the Cape! Also jealous of the meet but DH and I are chatting about a visit to the Cape. My brother in Houtbay plans on emigrating and I'm not sure when its going through but we plan on visiting him and the rest of my family in Feb/March. Going to try to see my dad then as well.

Julz, glad Dylan is more relaxed at school now, sending Z back to the daymother tomorrow. Hope I made the right decision.

Hey everyone

I'm in a bit of a rush, I've got so much to do before going back to work tomorrow. Actually looking forward to going back, I'm so not fit to be a full time mom! Honestly, I'm cleaning the entire day, picking up the #$#$ toys all the time, removing food from the couch, and I'm tired now! But I have to admit, I'm going to miss her!

Z is adorable, she is just "bang" of everything and everything wants to bite her. I think its due to the traumatising bee and red ant situations ... She really talks so well now - I love the conversations with her. Her favourite DVD is Heidi, she wants to watch it all the time and when I say all the time, I mean ALL THE TIME. I should probably be grateful that her favourite is a classic

Simone and Lisha, I love Cosmo's too and I made some for our New Year's celebrations as well! Do you also make yours with vodka, lime, triple sec and cranberry juice? We should get together

Vix, I actually used the nipple shields because I couldn't get Z to latch. I used to just clean them properly in boiled water and then put some milk on them to get her to latch. Worked like a charm. Good luck, hope it goes better today! I also think you should get some help at home at least. I've got a helper once a week and she's a gem, I can't go without the one day that my house is sparkling clean ...

Ally, your holiday sounds fantastic. I'm soooo jealous.

Christi you are right about quantity of breastmilk vs formula, but breastmilk is metabolised quicker so they need to be fed more often possibly?

RE BF, I remember that Iris also had a stage where she did that, but I was the mommy from hell and used to put my hand behind her head so she could not let go Oh, and just remember that expressing doesn't empty your breasts completely like when baby drinks, so its possible that your supply might have decreased a bit, but I applaud you for BF 2 babies for so long already!

Ally, seems like you are having a ball..! Those pics are sooo cool, wish I could take pics like those... Got a new camera with the insurance money, the Canon 1000D (not nearly as nice a one as you've got) so I'm trying to figure it out still but hopefully I'll be able to start taking nice piccies soon....

Helen, Nina is absolutely gorgeous! Hope the work opportunity works out for you! And just a thought on the BF: If what we were taught at antenatal classes is true, Nina should not need the same amount of BM as formula as the BM is supposed to be more filling than formula. They said that a newborn only needs 5mls of BM compared to 10mls of fomula per feed.

AFM, after 3 weeks our kitchen is just about finished and excuse me for saying so myself, but it looks stunning!! All the hard work have definately been worth it.

Iris has been a nightmare the past 2 nights, really hope it improves before I have to go back to work next week!

Vix I know how you feel about forumula. It used to make me sick to top up with it but I also believe that you have to do what you can and then let it go. The stress alone can cause less milk! I hope he latches. It may be worth your while going to a bf consultant. They look for things like tongue ties etc which prevents them from bfeeding.

Nicole Dylan was a star at school. I never liked his previous class upstairs and maybe he sensed it from me! This year he is in a nice big class downstairs and he puts his bag by his name tag and walks in. Still a bit shy but much much better!

Enigma/Simone, you can get cataflam without a script. You get the generic called diclofenac which is much cheeper and exactly the same thing.

Helen so pleased that nina is calming down a bit for mommy and wow only one feed at night.

As much as I am pro breastfeeding, I recon formula fed babies tend to be calmer.

Simone, Abigail is also the biggest drama queen. I bought her a little plastic crown yesterday and all she keeps saying is "mama, I'm a princess, dancing!!!" lol Wierdo!

So we've decided to leave either the 12th or 13th. Probably the 12th though. We need to do some stuff for my dad once everyone leaves so we can't leave on the 10th like planned. I wish I didn't have to go though, I'm going to miss this vibe so much. But I guess we can't be on holiday forever. Although, I told my dad that we might move here lol. I'll even pay rent during the year if I have to. Just to be so close to the sea and be just me, C and the twins! Oh bliss. Just a bit bad that there's only one nursery school in Stilbaai and I'm not sure how great it is! Anyway, we'll be back in April again. Will maybe be coming to CT then too... C's never been and we want to visit my aunt and cousins there.
