Vix I am so glad Jono has latched on now. Julz is right men just can't cope with what we have no choice but to deal with. Glad you're sounding so positive through it all - stay strong my friend.

Helen aww Oliver sounds too cute with his pressies. Good luck with the weaning process, sure she will take it well.
Can't believe Oliver stopped sucking his thumb so early on.

O.k I'm back in the car, Mum gave us a R1000 baby city voucher for the boys christmas pressies and I really wanted a light and sound toy for the twins bedroom to see if it helps Jono settle. I picked up a big one that they can play with once they're sitting so it's not a waste for a few months, it was marked at R450 but at the till it rang as R250 so bargain!!!

I also adore this age in C, he's bloody naughty don't get me wrong, he tests me every day but he's so adorable. He's also saying so much more, new words everyday, I though it might just be that he's trying to communicate with us on a different level since the twins arrived but if your boys are doing it suddenly too it must be an age thing.

Julz- your camping in the garden sounds like fun! I said I will do the same with C one day when he's bigger because I have a 5 man tent from my scouting days.

Lisha- C aslo won't get out the swimming pool even when it's freezing. Once he's been in a while I can eventually coax him out with the promise of a nesquick then we quickly put the pool net back on whilst he drinks so he can't get back in LOL

Ally- sorry about your lil bro's GF, you see a whole new side to people when they stay with you and suddenly people you thought you got on with turn out to be the most irritating.

Zee- sounds like Ziani loved christmas. Glad it turned out to be a good one!

Oh and the lump that was tthe clot is nearly completely gone, it's still a bit tender but I will just check it all out with the gynae at my 6w check up.

Helen so pleased that Nina is doing better on the bottle. Dylan also only took about 70ml per feed which is why I had to breastfeed every two or three hours which was okay but with a toddler it would be too much to handle! Shame I am sure things will get easier. Thinking of you. xxx

Hello everyone

Sounds like you all had a merry Christmas, we did too. Oliver was hilarious but so overwhelme with pressies that we actually staggered them over a few days. He was so funny, I had him help me dish out the pressies and he take his and spent time arranging them nice and orderly on his blanket, then I asked him to put Nina's presents in her bouncy chair and he'd just throw them in lol, he wasn't doing it maliciously or anything he just didn't really care what happened to them lol. He was so excited by all the pressies he was jumping up and down. And the only ones where he really stopped and paid attention was his books, but he's been busy with all the others since

Big news here is that I've started weaning the young lady off the breast, I've been having the same problem I had with Oliver, I'm just not making enough milk, she needs at least 125mls a feed and I've only been making between 60-100mls so then she doesn't settle and its just been a nightmare, it doesn't matter how frquently I put her on the breast my body just doesn't seem to be able to keep up. I'm already feeling a lot happier and she's also settleing better so I'm not upset at all and I know I'm making the right decision for everyone. Hopefully things will get a little easier from here. As for the thumb sucking, with Oliver I was adament I wouldn't give him a dummy and he found his thumb around 6 weeks, then stopped of his own accord around 8/9months. With the young lady she cries so much I actually gave in and tried to give her a dummy but the little madam won't take one lol, tried 3 different types and she wasn't having any of it so the only other option was her thumb as she desperately wants to suck something and my nipples can't handle being a dummy anymore lol.

And typically both Oliver and Nina have woken up now so I shall have to cut it short and leave it there, will try again a bit later but its unlikely as this place becomes a madhouse around bedtime, Nina is a nightmare to get to sleep

Vix I think when one has already had a colic baby, second time round you realise that the baby is actually okay which takes away half of the stress which is probably why you are more relaxed this time. Sorry about hubby but yes even the best men have tough times and can be a right royal pain in the arse. I don't even want to think of what they would be like if there were as sleep deprived as we become. I am so pleased Jono is latching. that is wonderful. x

Morning ladies,

Jonathan is in a good mood this morning, i managed to get him to latch and drink for 15min on the breast, then i just gave him a top up of EBM in a bottle to be sure he had enough. Will keep trying with the breast but i think it was partly because i changed all his teats to non leak so now he has to suck in order to get milk so now he is slightly more inclined to try and suck at the breast. Lets hope he keeps it up.

My DH is pretty stressed out since yesterdays colic outburst and I can't seem to snap him out of it, even the good men are full of sh1t when they want to be. He's so tired even though he's sleeping through til 6am with C. Can you imagine if the men had to do the night shift? LOL I however am holding up really well, or so It feels for now. I'm not allowing the colic to rule my life and bring out the worst in me so I am just doing the best I can to avoid getting stressed. It's not like I can change my situation is it? Nope even if I have a nervous breakdown I will still have 3 boys to run after.

Ooo gotta go again, we've arrived at baby city.
