Hi ladies.

Nelria, glad you enjoyed the pasta.

My dad, brother, aunt and uncle are all going to the Stilbaai house today until Sunday. They need to go get the house ready. All the furniture is coming from CT today and then my dad has to go get TV's etc. So glad I'm not the one he chose to go with coz I don't feel like working all weekend lol.

I love that it's just Me, C and the twins this weekend. So I can cook what I want for us (my dad doesn't like prawns or calamari) so I'm making us a salmon pasta tonight and then probably prawns tomorrow night. But I want to see if I can make it the way I love it but without using so much butter. Coz usually we use like 250g butter for 1kg prawns which is just RIDONCULOUS!!!! I think using a little bit of butter and white wine might give us the same sauciness but less fat.

We've been using HDC for most of this year and I genuinely haven't had much of an issue with them. They leak when the twins' nappies are VERY full but they almost never leak at night funnily enough. But also, the twins' night time nappies are getting drier and drier. And we use about 4 nappies per child now during the day even though they drink up to or just a little bit more than a litre of fluids a day (excluding their nap/bedtime bottles).

The one thing I am very worried about is their dummies. My children are COMPLETELY attached to their dummies and they ask for them constantly. We take them away in the morning and they ask for them all the way to nap time. And I can't bear cutting them or throwing them away coz they are just impossible without them at times. But I'll have to wait until after December to do anything about it as they'll be needing them for the drive./

Vix yay on your great night. Hope he continues like that going forward. Why don't you phone Huggies and ask for samples of new HG size 5 and see if that works for you or not. Then maybe do the same with whichever Pampers you want to try as well. As I said yesterday we're having no issues but that's probably because Shrey doesn't drink too much before bedtime.

We had a good night but think tonight may not be as easy. My sister & niece are down from Jhb so Shrey is going to have a very busy day - it usually ends in leg pain & night time crying Told my niece not to let him run - let's see how that works out lol.

Oh yes and diwali is tomorrow & it's coinciding with guy fawks this year so all pet owners hope you guys got something to calm the dogs down.
I did no further baking so just hope I get my biscuits today then I'm all set. Will be at work for half day.

Morning Ladies,

Just thought I would quickly give you an update. Haven't had time to really read posts.

The mini-holiday last week was awesome! There was literally nothing to do DH & Iris spent the mornings after breakfast in the pool while I sat under the Lapa watching & studying. After lunch we usually all went for a nap/watching TV in the room until about 3/4 and then we all went into the pool until about 5. By then it was usually cooler and we took Iris to the play area (which is in FULL sun during the day) until we went for dinner.

Back at work since Monday but have loads to catch up on so VERY busy. Haven't even had time to do my homework for Saturday's class

Iris slept soooo well on Sunday & Monday night, waking only twice in the early morning but since Tuesday eve she is back to waking VERY frequently but it seems she is getting flu again or it might be those last 2 molars thats causing all the trouble??
This morning I asked her to show mommy where it hurts & why she cries at night and she rubbed her leg, so I'm also wondering if it might be cramps or if her legs maybe pain at night?

OOOH to all the birthday kiddies I've missed... Hope they all had an awesome time and that they will be the best toddlers ever for their mommies & daddies!!

Thanks for the tip Nelria re HDC - one of my friends also actually mentioned that they are using it, and have no problems. Do u also use it at night? I am definetely going to give it a try! Will maybe give the blue pack pampers a go for the night time nappy???

Cj slept well last night, and was a little darling again thanks to his nice long afternoon nap! And he also loved the enchilladas - ate his whole plate and asked from me as well!!!! So mommy feeling very happy and blessed this morning!

Nelria- LMAO I wondered if you ever saw that comment re purple icing. I think the mix is something like 125g butter/ wooden spoon marg, creamed, gradually add 500g icing sugar. As the mix becomes crumbly add a teaspoon of milk until correct consistency again, continue until all 500g of icing sugar is used. For purple mix equal amounts of red and blue food colouring, adjust with few extra drops of blue or red until correct purple is achieved. If you're heading for barney purple then it should probably be an extra drop or 2 of red.......

Oh I have been using HDC during the day for C which is fine but it leaks too soon for C's night time nappy. He pees even through 2 HG some nights because he drinks so much during the day.

Yay, C only woke once again last night for a water bottle, man it feels so good going back to one wake per night.

Simone- I don't mind the 1 wake per night too much and I am just giving C 100ml of plain water then he sleeps til 7ish but when it gets to 2,3 times or every 2hrs then I get irritated because I really hate getting in and out of my high bed now this bump is so solid. C comes to my room just so that I can walk him back to bed! Go figure? Then he climbs into his bed all by himself, it's like he just wants me to know he was awake. I'm trying to kinda go with the flow because when the tweenies come his routine will be thrown out I'm sure.

Mandy- oh no, that's terrible re Cam's finger! Poor boy! I hope it heals fast. I knoww the creche says they really don't knoww how it happened but it's actually bad that he can hurt himself so bad without them even noticing, did they not even say he cried? Kids do have accidents and do break things even at home with us but they usually cry for the smallest of bumps..... Good on you for getting him checked out so quickly though. Poor boy!

Helen- you must by now be super excited, I cannot believe it has come around so fast already.

Nicole- Cute pics of K in his towel, C has 2 and adores them, he asks for them at the most random of times. I forgot to say the other day I actually have no idea how to set up that sms thing with baby city, I know Nelria did it but you're right I should probably do that hey! Don't worry though you guys will be one of the firsts to know because I have the BB anyways so I have access to moomie whilst in hospital.

Lelani - I kinda brought up my maids daughter from 7 - 16 yrs until we lived apart again and she really needed independance from my strictness - she is 22 now and I think in retrospect, I had to leave her and stop checking on her as much as i did and oyt rewards into the mix - i think some of the gals had lovely ideas for her, but really letting her list her rewards would help her to see that the success she earns by studying would be good enough on their own..

yes, some of you saw on facebook that Camerons finger is broken! I fetched him from school yesterday and after i played with him for an hour he showed me his BLUE swollen finger! I took him to the pharmacist and he sent me straight to casualty! they exrayed him and his lieft ring finger has a small fracture~! the school has no idea how it happened, Im hoping that as the swelling goes down , the pain doesnt get worse as he seems not to be very sore for now luckily.. I did deal with the school this morning but they really dont know how it happened as the baby room specifically doesnt have much you can squash your fingers on, but anyway I just hope it does get better!~ QUICK!

Lisha I would stop imediately if I had such a crappy reaction and rather ask the pharmacist first, I think it will just make you bleed and then when you are done with your af, in a week or twos time, you can be advised on another pill
