file Oct/Nov 2008 mommies!

I must be honest - I was horrified when Cam got onto Bryce's bike and he threw a complete wobbly!! Grabbing Cam by the arm trying to pull him off the bike!!

And then when he smacked C - especially as I was standing right there but had turned around for a second to get some colddrink!!

The last straw for me was when he shoved Cam later on for no reason! I was mortified - where in heavens name was my well-behaved child today I thought!! In the same breath I understand that all the kids were getting annoyed because it was just blistering outside and Bryce has got such hayfever at the moment so he's all stuffy & miserable but still its not nice to see your child being pushed around OR your child doing the pushing around.

Ange- oh no!!!! please talk to us! remember we are your strength! I'm sad you're having a hard time and i really hope we can help you somehow?

Jessica- well you can just know now that i understand kids have their rucks and it's by no means your fault and should therefore not be your shame! i was certainly not all that bothered by a quick side swipe, the only time i will really get angry is when a child is being beaten and all that was going on yesterday was a bit of happy slapping LOL

hello ladies

Sorry I have been MIA for such a long time but things have been hectic both and the work and home front for me. I actually thought for a moment that I had lost my mind and was a total mess.

I am sorry that I missed out on the fun with regards to the Baby shower but I am glad that you ladies had a great time.

I missed you ladies so much but just didn't want to come on here while I was feeling "suicidal"

Hopefully (and I am keeping my fingers crossed) I will be better soon.

Love you all!

Angie

I agree - kids will be kids and unfortunately they will either smack or be smacked at some point. But after speaking, asking nicely & reprimanding a number of times yesterday I had had enough and gave him a smack. You feel like such a shit when your LO smacks or shoves another child.

YOza sorry that Siba is not well. When dylan had a bug and was in hospital he was just given fluids and could drink his milk which was soy. Rehydrate is best. Try not to give any meds that stop the tummy from working. You want to get rid of the bug. Don't worry if he is not eating much as long as he is drinking and if it continues today with many nappies rather take him to the doc. They become dehydrated really quickly.

If he is not drinking take him to the doc as he may need to be put on a drip. It can get serious very quickly trust me. Dylan lost 10% of his body fluid within a morning which is very serious and I had no idea.

Vix I totally agree. They do need to sort themselved out and a simple no don't be rude to the other child is enough. If Dylan pushes a bit I don't worry too much. I will just say no dylan share please. If he physically hits a child I remove him and reprimand him and then show the other child a bit of attention.

This is normal toddler behaviour. I know Dylan is quite strong willed and stand his ground as he plays with older kids so he has to, but I have never been called to the school. They let the kids sort themselves out within reason.

Mom of Dylan and Partner to Joerg. We live in the Beautiful Pringle Bay which is along the Whale coast, Cape.

Yoza- banana is great for runny tummy because it helps to stiffen poop but most importantly it neutralises the acid so helping to avoid bum sores but i read yesterday in L&L that you must grate an apple with the skin still on, let it go brown in the open air and then eat it. interesting theory i will probabl never get to try with C as he almost never has a runny tummy LOL

Julz- love the quote!

I was actually saying to Jess yesterday, kids are kids and at this age they do squabble and fight and even hit each other sometime, everything is MINE but all we can do is try to teach them to share. There's no use in getting oneself upset over squabbling or even selfish kids, just keep asking them to share and play nicely and eventually they'll get over this phase!

Bryce hit C yesterday and i just asked him to stop, he did exactly what i asked and walked away, C looked at me like 'what the ...' but i just ignored him too because if i go and coo 'ahhh ahh my poor baby' I'm only teaching him to come running for attention everytime he gets into a squabble and that i don't want either.

Jess was like 'oh no what did he do.....' but i said it's nothing leave them, they are at 'that age' and it's true they are, even the worlds best behaved toddler will have his moments! Some are just more forward than others, some more skelm and some just oblivious to all the fighting going on around them but eventually every one of our children will hit and be hit at, that's all part of growing up.
